Trying new things and new ways of being takes courage, and I am honored that I’ve gotten to share this journey with so many people throughout my career. I work with folks who are navigating life transitions and the mix of emotions that arise from them. I help individuals learn to listen to and trust their inner wisdom. I work with adults (18+) and primarily utilize family systems, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral therapies. I believe that our early relational experiences have an impact on how we see ourselves, others and the world, and I think that exploring and referencing these experiences aids in overall self-discovery.
Additionally, I help folks identify and acknowledge the ways that larger systems (e.g., capitalism, fatphobia, the patriarchy, racism and other forms of discrimination) impact mood and overall functioning. I am also a Certified Daring Way Facilitator-Clinician, which is based on the work of Dr. Brené Brown, and work from a Health At Every Size framework.
As a Queer Black woman therapist I center the most marginalized folks: QTPOCs, fat folks and those with disabilities. I work with folks who are experiencing anxiety, depression, interpersonal relationship concerns, body image concerns, and life transitions, and also have a specialty in working with entrepreneurs.
