Before becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker I worked as a Correctional Officer and got to witness first hand how untreated mental health and substance abuse challenges bled over into so many different areas of life. The purpose of this group is to provide a confidential, safe, space for people with shared experiences to collectively break the chains of shame and stigma, and empower participants to recognize the purpose behind their proverbial thorn.
