The focus of my art therapy practice is to help clients navigate life's challenges through self expression, processing emotions, increasing coping strategies, and fostering creative problem solving. I specialize in working with children and adolescents facing emotional or behavioral challenges including: school issues, mood disorders, grief/loss, trauma, low self esteem, communication issues, autism spectrum disorder, and developmental disabilities. I am also an ADHD Certified Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP).

The development of a child is a unique journey with many ups and downs, from celebrating milestones and accomplishments to navigating various social, emotional, and behavioral struggles. Growing up is hard and there are a multitude of things that can impact an already difficult life stage. Social, emotional, and behavioral struggles in childhood can not only impact the success of a child, but also have the potential to impact the family as a whole. Hello, my name is John Abad, LCPC, and I have worked for over six years as a therapist. I work with ages 5+, adolescents, and adults. My focus areas are Anxiety, Coping Skills, Emotional Disturbance, Parenting, and Stress. I use a mix of Clinical Supervision and Licensed, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Transpersonal, and Schema Therapy. Dr. Snow specializes in administering psychological and neuropsychological testing with children, adolescents, and adults. She frequently assesses learning disabilities, ADHD, autism, mood disorders, defiance, and conducts pre-surgical evaluations. She is trained in the ADOS-2, a measure that is considered the “gold standard” assessment for diagnosing autism. Her psychological reports include easy to read language and unique recommendations tailored to each client.

People seek therapy for many different reasons. Sometimes, people need a healthy outlet for pent up emotions. I have worked in the field of mental health for the past ten years. My doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology is through the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. My previous work experience includes hospital, private practice, school, and community mental health settings. I also have experience presenting in the community on how to manage problematic behavior at home and strategies for reducing anxiety and stress.

Each client has their own unique story and my job is to adjust to what the client needs utilizing an integrated approach of evidenced based practices. I gravitate toward strength based treatment. For younger clients this tends to include a behavioral plan and parent coaching to transfer skills across environments. Individual therapy, for all ages, may include: behavior modification, social skills training, CBT or DBT pending the individuals level of cognitive functioning and identified goals. The idea is to build upon already existing strengths and promote adaptive behaviors to improve overall functioning.

I have been working in the mental health and social service field for over 20 years. In that time, I have had the pleasure of working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I am passionate about helping others in finding peace and happiness within themselves and their relationships. I take a client centered approach and come from a place of compassion in building a strong trusting client-therapist relationship. Dr. Jacey Keeney, Postdoctoral Fellow, earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science, with an emphasis on Health Psychology. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Penn Medicine, in the Princeton Center for Eating Disorders. Dr. Keeney specializes in treating children, adolescents, young adults, and athletes struggling with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. Dr. Keeney has been under the mentorship of Dr. Paul Mullen on the treatment of children and adolescents since she was an undergraduate student at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois.
