I am a licensed clinical social worker and credentialed as a mental health professional by the states of Washington and Idaho. I am trained and experienced in the areas of crisis intervention, conflict resolution and mediation, domestic violence, and various mood disorders. I have worked with both teenagers and adults.

I enjoy working with couples and individuals. As humans, we all have the same needs- to be seen, heard, and valued. Whether it is family history, trauma, trust issues, control, betrayal, or current stressors, creating connection and bonding is at the center or our work. The process can be hard, emotional, or feel impossible at times, but I believe in our desire to grow and be better. We all want healing and growth, both in self and relationships. I am a faith-based Marriage and Family Therapist with over 30 years of counseling experience. I have worked as a clinical supervisor, guidance counselor, adjunct professor, and works currently with children, couples and families to better their relationships and reduce stress. I am passionate about providing resources and tools to help my clients become the best that they can be. I am open to providing workshops, and community presentations and a variety of resources to my clients.

Welcome and thank you for visiting. I am excited to share that I have opened an integrated behavioral health facility in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho - Lifehouse Healthcare, PLLC. I am partnering with a highly knowledgable & experienced Certified Nurse Practitioner.

I believe counseling includes discussing a variety of issues, primarily focusing on agreed upon areas of change. While counseling may at times feel uncomfortable due to talking about difficult issues, it should leave you with a better understanding of yourself and/or your family. There may be activities or "homework" to do between sessions. You are an active participant in the process, and if it does not seem to be working, discuss this with me at any time. I have over 10 years of working with children, adolescents, young adults and families & look forward to possibly working with you.

Once in a while everyone can use another set of eyes on an issue, or a wiser perspective from 30,000 feet. An experienced counselor/coach/guide in practice for 33 years, since 1991, I provide personal counseling, maturation therapy, marital, premarital, and relationship counseling, communication training, conflict resolution, and business coaching for individuals, couples, and small groups. I specialize in helping adult clients grow up. My goal is to address the national epidemic of elongated adolescence, medically & socially-sedated citizens, skyrocketing narcissism, and children raising children, one client at a time.

I specialize in working with couples in all stages of their relationships - from those who are dating or engaged, to newly married or navigating life with children or facing issues related to blended families, to those who have been together for decades. I also work with individuals navigating divorce, helping them process the challenges that come with that journey so they can come out on the other side in a healthy way. When clients arrive at the first session nervous or ambivalent about whether counseling can really help, I focus on putting them at ease and building confidence in their own ability to create the change they want.

When you can get to the root of the problem(s) and know better, you will feel better! I have a holistic approach to therapy, trained in working with people who have depression, anxiety and/or trauma - especially as it relates to issues from childhood. I am open to working with those 18+. I use the science of the brain, its impact on emotions and behavior, as well as cognitive behavioral and EMDR as primary modalities in my practice.

Dr. Kimberly Cole is the founder of Briar Rose Center and a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. She is a Certified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) Therapist. She has been in an independent practice in the Spokane-Seattle areas since January 2007. Her areas of expertise includes Complex Trauma (DID), PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, Phobias, Panic Attacks, Grief-Loss, Sexual Orientation, Self-Care, Effective Communication, Problem Solving, Substance Abuse, Consultation, and Stress Management. Dr. Cole focuses on empowerment and independence; enhancement of strengths rather than a focus on weaknesses; lack of emphasis on pathology and victim blaming; and the importance of psycho-education.

**My practice offers telehealth delivery of service for clients (both phone/video sessions). Many insurances cover these.** I have over 20 years of experience helping people with their broken pieces, obstacles or stuck places in life.
