As a clinician my background and experience are anchored and reflected in the lives of those I've had the privilege to serve in areas that include but are not limited to: Community -Based Mental Health Services for Children and Families, Foster Care, NYS Department of Corrections (female and male facilities), Substance Abuse, Domestic Violence, and Relational Discord. As a United States Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran, I hold a special interest in working with those who are currently serving, veterans and experiencing difficulties and challenges associated with their service.

As a clinical therapist my best approach in the helping process is through empathy, active listening as well as a supportive environment. I believe that my enthusiasm, and commitment comes from my positive results of working with patients who were going through bereavement, children in crises, domestic violence and addiction of all types.

Our clinical areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, martial issues, codependency, self-esteem, women’s issues, substance abuse, harm reduction, grief, and transitional concerns. Through evidenced based approaches, we aim to tailor our treatment approach specific to the needs of each individual. My approach is primarily insight-oriented -- discovering patterns that shape your life and affect your sense of yourself. It's also practical -- for example, working on developing boundaries in relationships. Much of my experience is with LGBTQ individuals and healthcare workers.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with postgraduate training who has been in private practice in NYC and Westchester for 22 years. I work with adults, individuals and couples, and I specialize in the treatment of anxiety, depression and relationship issues. My orientation is psychodynamic but I utilize an eclectic approach and various treatment modalities, depending on the personality of the individual and the issues presented. Over 15 years of experience in mental health as a Social Worker, I've had the privilege of journeying alongside adolescents, children, and adults through their mental health challenges in various settings such as hospitals, out-of-home placements, and working in community-based settings. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults for the past 20 years utilizing evidence based practices. I specialize in counseling victims of domestic violence and persons with co-occurring disorders.
