In addition to his private practice where he treats child/adolescents/adults, Madison was the Clinical Director at Hope House of Augusta’s Women’s Residential and Intensive Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Center from September 11, 2016 to February 9, 2020, where patients received treatment for substance use and mental health disorders. I'm a Clinical Mental Health Counselor, and former military spouse of over 20 years. I’m licensed in Maryland, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida, with a background in interdisciplinary care, specializing in an integrative therapeutic approach. I have experience working with a wide variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, ADHD, mood disorders, substance use, relationship difficulties, Women's issues, as well as working with the military, and LGBT populations. I provide therapy services for a range of issues including depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, relationship issues, job related stressors, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), panic disorder, gender identity, etc. I also conduct SAP assessments and follow up recommendations.

My clients often struggle with anxiety, shame, and guilt that stems from experiencing an adverse event. Others struggle with debilitating generalized or social anxiety that interferes with their relationships or their ability to perform well at work. Some try to cope or inhibit their anxiety through substance use or other avoidance strategies. I also work with parents who are struggling to survive the sometimes turbulent years of adolescence and the transition into young adulthood by offering practical tips to reduce conflict and foster healthy independence.

While I am not recovering from a substance use disorder myself, I have an extensive understanding of the progression of addiction, the process of recovery, and family dynamics of addiction. In addition to addiction treatment experience, I find fulfillment working with the various issues faced by emergency responders, including law enforcement officers, paramedics and fire fighters, as well as people seeking help for mental health concerns.
