Are you overwhelmed, anxious or depressed and turning to substances and other unhealthy behaviors to cope? Do you struggle with feeling uncomfortable in your own skin? Are you looking to make real changes in your life but don't know where to start? Or, maybe you've started your journey and you recognize the need for support as you continue to move forward. Change can be difficult and sometimes scary. It's important to have the right person "in your corner" to help you tap in to your inner wisdom and navigate the challenges that you're facing. I have experience working with a wide variety of presenting struggles including substance abuse, eating disorders, body image concerns, women's issues and navigating life transitions.

I work with a broad range of clients helping them with relationship issues, career counseling, mood disorders, personality disorders, sexual and gender identity, women's issues, trauma, and life transitions, among many others.
Let's face it: life is messy. We are all broken people living in a broken world and doing the best that we can. And sometimes our best just doesn't seem to be good enough. We can find ourselves disillusioned and heartbroken and yet we don't know how we wound up here. We long for more out of this life and yet we don't know how to get there. Whether you are grieving a loss, struggling to make a decision, or simply find yourself stuck in a rut, counseling can help you understand not just the origin of your problems but also assist you in developing practical coping skills and solutions.

As an experienced trauma and women's issues therapist, I believe every woman can restore work-life balance and peace of mind.
You are tired of putting up with the mess at work. Your plate is full but they expect you to do more work. You consider walking out often. You feel stressed and exhausted trying to do and be it all. You are starting to notice the pressure is impacting other areas of your life. Sometimes, you consider changing jobs or careers or starting your dream business. You may not remember a time when life did not feel this way. But you know something has to change. You want work-life balance and inner peace. You want to stop carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders. You desire a safe space to confront what's been stealing your joy.

I am an interactive therapist, specializing in women's issues.
Our 21st century lives can be overwhelming. Being human and keeping up with all that entails is not easy, and we shouldn’t have to navigate the hard times alone. Overwhelm, exhaustion, + the pressure of life’s demands create stress and anxiety that takes its toll on our body. Or maybe you just feel unfulfilled, anxious or stuck. It's all real. And I can help.

I most often handle cases related to depression, life transitions, women's issues, and anxiety or trauma.
There are few things harder than asking for help. Sometimes people seek counseling for this help and sometimes they just want to make positive changes in their lives.  I aim to build genuine and productive connections with clients, incorporating a relaxed setting and humor when appropriate. Counseling may be a hard journey, but things like trust and comfort level can create an ideal setting for growth. - I am currently taking on new clients. However, I am not seeing couples, those struggling with eating disorders, or substance abuse.

I am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) for the State of Georgia. I enjoy working with clients who are facing problems with infertility, women's issues, or loss of a child. Previously, I have worked with a variety of clients, but decided to focus solely on women's health after experiencing my own miscarriage and subsequent infertility issues. My treatment approach is holistic and eclectic. I believe that therapy should never be a "one-size fit all" approach. Everyone heals differently and my goal is to personalize my approach to optimize your growth and overall well-being.

Online Therapists

Is online therapy as effective as in-person?

Numerous studies suggest that online therapy can be as effective as in-person therapy. However, further research is needed to determine if online therapy provides the same benefits across all client populations. Individuals with severe mental illnesses, such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, or those who may benefit from in-person check-ins, like those with eating disorders, may not experience the same level of benefit from online therapy. Nonetheless, the success of online therapy, much like in-person therapy, often hinges on the quality of the therapeutic relationship between the therapist and the client rather than the specific modality of therapy used.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of therapy conducted online?

One of the main advantages of online therapy is its convenience for both clients and therapists. It also allows clients who require specialized therapy to access a wider range of professionals than they could with only in-person sessions. Additionally, online therapy may be a more affordable option in some cases and often offers the same insurance benefits as in-person therapy. However, online therapy may not be suitable for everyone, especially those who value face-to-face interaction with a therapist. Therapists may find it more challenging to assess clients accurately in an online setting due to reduced nonverbal cues on camera. There is also the increased risk that disruptions caused by external factors, such as technology malfunctions, can hinder the therapy session. For these reasons, many therapists offer a "hybrid" therapeutic approach, alternating between seeing clients in-person and online.

Is online therapy suitable for children and adolescents?

Just like with adults, the accessibility and convenience of online therapy can greatly benefit children and adolescents. In fact, children and adolescents may be more accustomed to navigating online platforms than older adults, making online sessions feel more natural for them. Teens might also be interested in using additional online tools, such as therapist-recommended apps, as an adjunct to online therapy sessions. Apps for developing CBT skills, practicing mindfulness exercises, or tracking thoughts and moods can be helpful for teens receiving therapy. However, it's important to note that not all therapeutic modalities are well-suited to online therapy, especially those used with younger children. For example, play therapy, which helps younger children express their emotions, often requires in-person sessions to be fully effective.

Can I receive prescriptions and medication management with online therapy?

The ability for psychiatrists to prescribe medications through online therapy varies based on the medication and the states where the medical professional and client are located. While many prescribing regulations were relaxed during the COVID-19 pandemic, some states still enforce rules, especially concerning controlled substances, which may mandate an in-person visit before prescribing. Generally, however, medical professionals can prescribe non-controlled substances through online therapy sessions just as they do during in-person sessions.
