Kelly was born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in Ithaca, New York. Kelly is a LCSW, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and has 20 years of experience. As a psychotherapist, Kelly is holistic, bringing a humanistic and culturally expansive lens to her work. These lenses include cultural humility, recognition that every human being has inherent strengths, compassion, and the exploration of all aspects of one's physical, mental, spiritual, and social health. The foundation of her work rests on the collaborative building of the therapeutic relationship. She developed her psychotherapy approach working in a variety of practice settings.

I am a professor emerita of behavioral health from the University of South Florida where I taught graduate students from 1993 to 2011 - my areas of expertise included psychopathology, pathophysiology, psychopharmacology, and research.
