Using a combination of Gottman Therapy, trauma-informed/systemic framework, and attachment work/healing, you and your partner will build a strong connection once again.
Your relationship is no longer the safe and loving experience you signed up for. What was once a sacred space, a peaceful home, has now turned into a battleground over the smallest things, like a lost remote control. Communication has all but broken down. You and your partner used to be each other's biggest fans, but it’s more like you are roommates now, going along with the motions. Your emotional connection has dwindled, along with a fulfilling sex life. You long to go back to when you found comfort in this person, but you don’t know how. You’re still in love and determined to make things work.

Therapy can be challenging and triggering! As a therapist I understand the effort it takes to work on one's trauma, fears, insecurities or stressors.
I've realized during my time practicing as a Mental Health Counselor, the immediate need for someone to listen! I empathize with individuals who want to be heard and understood. One common issue that stands out during my therapy session is difficulties communicating and listening among peers and family. I hear my client's say how difficult it has been for them to express and explain their perspectives to others and not feel heard. During these difficult times all we need is someone to listen without judgment.

As a licensed psychotherapist and EMDR Certified Therapist, I understand that seeking therapy requires courage, and I commend you for taking that leap toward personal growth and healing. If you often ask yourself questions such as, "Why do I experience such intense emotions or no emotions?" "How can I stop self-sabotaging behaviors and impulsive actions?" "Why are relationships so difficult?" " What steps can I take to heal from past trauma and address emotional pain?" "Why do I feel like a fraud?" "How can I find inner peace?" "Why am I struggling with intimacy and sexual performance?" I can help you find the answers you seek.

As an EMDR and trauma therapist with over a decade of experience, I have witnessed time and again how healing and peace can bloom through anxiety and sadness.
You feel anxious and sad…worried that you’re not good enough, that you’re not deserving of being loved. You’re tired of feeling pressured to please others or feeling guilty about how you allow others to treat you. Perhaps it’s hard to even remember a time you didn’t feel like this. But one thing is for sure: you’re ready for some relief. You’re ready to heal your emotional wounds. You’re ready to learn how to be less reactive and more confident. Most of all, you are ready to not be held back by the past or your fears— you are ready to live with peace and freedom as the best version of yourself.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
