I am a psychotherapist with 10 years in private practice seeing families, individuals and couples. Since 2013, I have been providing holistic mental health care from a Jungian tradition. The term 'holistic' to the pioneer Carl Jung, meant unity between the conscious and the unconscious. Frequently it further means recognition and treatment of an individual in mind, body and spirit. Both ideals are at the heart of integrative practice. Holistic to me does not mean 'alternative', although I have many decades of immersing myself in healing modalities that are, including acupuncture and nutrition.

The problem is that you have left your first love. You have lost trust and friendship in your marriage and wonder if it can be saved. You have even wondered if divorce is an option. You may still love your spouse, but you are definitely no longer in love. You think, "If our relationship were back then what it is now, I would not have married." Working on symptoms does not work. The actual problem has to be addressed: falling out of love.

We can control how we react to things that happen, processing them, or holding things inside avoiding them which can hurt us and our loved ones more.
