In the broadest terms, my practice centers on the idea of helping you to establish or restore greater authenticity--a more authentic voice, space of desire and trajectory of drive/motivation. Cary has developed the last two years to the practice of Play therapy not only with children but also with adults and couples, She works with children teens and adults. Cary provides services in both English and SPANISH. Cary uses modalities of expressive arts, Play Therapy, CBT, DBT, family systems and trauma-informed care, working with individuals, couples and families.

Dr. Alcalay received his Doctorate and Masters in Clinical Psychology at CAU in Miami, Florida. He conducted research on Teaching Responsible Behaviors to Adolescents, (TRBA), and Program for Alcohol Abusing Adolescent using Combined Therapy & Exercise (PACTE). He also has received advanced training from the Florida Psychoanalytic Center (FPC). In addition to providing traditional psychotherapy and psychological testing, Dr. Alcalay is an E.M.D.R. (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) therapist which is used in the treatment of PTSD. Additionally, Dr. Alcalay utilizes child-centered Play therapy for early behavioral issues & improving self-esteem. He is also a Qualified Supervisor.
