Also, I include Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and an existential approach.
Feeling marginalized or are you bending under the weight of others' expectations? Then let's talk about it. I started Mwoyo Mental Health to provide culturally sensitive individual therapy for depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance use disorders, just to name a few. Whatever your life experience or problem, I would be honored to help you empower yourself.

Are you too fatigued, worried, depressed or unable to fall asleep? Are you grieving or experiencing painful flashbacks and overwhelming emotions? Is mind racing and feel that you don't fit in the world, anymore? Are you feeling hopeless and helpless? Conventional, one-size-fits-all therapeutic models lack authenticity, in stark contrast with the uniqueness of individual life. I'm an Esotherapist(tm) and Australian Level 4 Registered Counselor (LPC equivalent) living in US and specializing in PTSD, depression, anxiety/panic, grief, addictions, relationships, existential and identity crises. I am also a clinical hypnotherapist, NLP practitioner and life-coach.

How will you shape future chapters of your life? Therapy can help us navigate the most challenging times or begin the journey of changing negative core beliefs, turning toward experiencing the whole self and lasting well-being. We can make a sustainable change by welcoming present-moment awareness and developing healing responses to traumatizing life events. I work with clients to resolve suffering, build self-compassion and self-acceptance, and create new habits. Clients can expect sessions to include a solution-based approach using mindfulness, acceptance, psychological flexibility, and evidence-based skill building.

I believe the primary role of a therapist is to help clients gain a sense of hope. Life can be challenging, even in the best of times, and talking through your issues can help. I'll do my best to help you figure out the root causes causes of your problems so they don't keep popping up. My job is not to advise you or to tell you what to do. Instead, I'll listen to your story and guide you as you develop a new way of living your life and dealing with the challenges that come your way. Life can be hard but it doesn't need to stay that way. I have 20 years of clinical experience working with adults of all ages with depression, anxiety,

Have you been struggling with anxiety or depression from unresolved incidents that have happened in your life? I believe that the way to healing is through connection; to yourself, others, nature, and a higher power (if this is important to you), and building skills to deepen these connections. If you would like to feel more at peace within yourself, and be an active participant in your healing journey, I can help you find the peace that you are longing to have and your ability to move your dreams forward.

I tell clients that I am like GPS - I can't tell you where to go, but I can help you get where you decide you want to go! I love working with people! Everyone has traveled a different road to become the person who sits in front of me, and I am so drawn to the unique experiences that each person shares. I am so in awe and have so much respect for the lives of people who choose to work with me on a current rough spot in the road they are traveling. I feel so honored to be part of that journey for a time, and to assist with making the journey easier.

I am a licensed therapist as well as a certified rehabilitation counselor with nine years of experience. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, motivation, self-esteem, and confidence. Can you imagine a life where you are at peace with your feelings, able to make good decisions, and in better control of your behavior and reactions? What would it be like to no longer feel overwhelmed by stress or defeated by your emotions? When overwhelming emotions take hold, your work or relationships suffer and other areas of your life can deteriorate, keeping you from enjoying the life you know you

I have an open and relaxed approach to therapy. It's important to build trust, good rapport, and having a human connection with your therapist. Your goals for therapy are the important part and that's what we can focus on. If you just need someone to process through things or have specific goals, we can tailor your treatment to fit best for you. I have a Master's degree in professional counseling and have been working in counseling for over 7 years. I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC), and also a veteran.

My passion for psychology started when I needed to understand myself at 27 years of age and my journey began. Through the years I continued to study; work with therapists and Ph.D,'s; heal items in my own life and received profound positive changes for my efforts. I decided to return to school and obtain my degree in the field that I love so I can help others on their journey. I have provided psychotherapy services to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and seniors. I have worked with individuals who have health issues who need support. My approach is client centered, optimistic and strength based.

Do you want more for yourself, but cant quite picture what that looks like? Perhaps you know exactly what changes you'd like to see? Are you ready? As a skilled therapist, I have many tools to assist others in clearly identifying, and meeting, their goals. However, the most valuable tool in this process is us: our relationship. Being able to feel connected, be yourself, and feel seen is hugely healing in itself. I am flexible in my approach, adapting my skills to your needs. I will help you clearly identify what gives you meaning and purpose, while cultivating your strengths to live in alignment with your values.

Life is filled with challenges that catch us off guard. It's easy to feel frustrated and confused - even overwhelmed at times. My training and experience as a counselor have prepared me to offer you an authentic experience that is healing, evidence-based, and focused on getting you practical results. My basic philosophy is that none of us is born with all the knowledge we need. But throughout life we meet people, learn from our experiences, and look deep within ourselves to develop the skills we need to

Feeling tense, irritable, or drained? Have you forgotten what it was like to be free from these emotions? Chronic stress is like lugging around a large shoulder bag: the longer we carry it, the heavier it becomes, leaving us fatigued and unwell. I assist people who have been through traumatic or difficult life events in finding practical ways to lighten their load and reclaim their vitality by assisting them in making sense of their symptoms, reconnecting with their true selves, healing from unpleasant experiences, and developing effective tools for lasting change.

Existential Therapists

How does existential therapy work?

Existential therapy focuses on a patient’s inner experiences. The therapist tries to help the individual comprehend and alleviate symptoms by exploring their interior life. By confronting negative disquiet and emotions, the individual will hopefully become more open to finding meaning and purpose. This therapy can be administered to individuals or groups.

Is existential therapy evidence-based?

Existential therapy is an evidence-based practice. Research has determined that existential therapy can lead to significant improvement in the mental health of patients, and for some people it can be just as effective as cognitive behavioral therapy. The benefits of existential therapy are enduring, even long after treatment has ended.

How long does existential therapy last?

The goal of existential therapy is to understand a person’s internal experiences, which may sound like a lengthy process, but it does not have to be so in-depth. However, sessions are not short-term, and therapy can continue for months or up to a year. And because patients learn the theory behind existential therapy during treatment, they can also practice its tenets throughout life after therapy sessions have been completed.

Is existential therapy effective?

According to research, many patients find success with existential therapy. Researchers note that the therapy is particularly useful in improving feelings of isolation, feelings of purposelessness, as well as conditions such as anxiety and depression. Improvements in problem areas can persist even after the end of existential therapy, as individuals can continue working on themselves by using the tools they’ve developed during treatment.
