I believe everyone deserves a real chance at happiness, and I’ve found that the proper attention, tools, and methods like EMDR, ERP, and CBT can give you that chance.
Is it getting harder and harder to keep up with your everyday responsibilities? These days, it might be difficult to muster the motivation to do anything but the bare minimum. It feels impossible to slow down the racing thoughts and the constant waiting for the other shoe to drop…let alone get a good night’s sleep. Something may have happened recently that’s pushed you over the edge. It could’ve brought up emotions from your past, and though you want to move on, you’re not sure how. You’ve started to notice these problems affecting both your personal and professional life, and it feels like things might completely fall apart.

EMDR and IFS are two forms of therapy that I use that have been shown to create much more progress than basic talk therapy.
Finding a therapist can be a daunting process. I applaud you for taking the steps toward your healing. Many of my clients are women who struggle with anxiety, inadequacy, and people pleasing. They may get fixated on the uncertainty of the future or feel stuck in past pain. It might be difficult to ask for what they need in relationships, instead trying to make everyone around them happy. They come to therapy in order to heal from their past. They seek to be empowered, feel confident and satisfied in their lives and relationships. If you're wanting to find freedom from anxiety, OCD, perfectionism or past trauma, I can help.

I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing ( EMDR) and I am working towards my certification.
Life's emotional challenges can sometimes interfere with our ability to maintain a productive and fulfilling life. It can be difficult and frightening to reach out for help. But you have already shown strength and courage by taking the first step towards a healthy and balanced life. With a focus on strengths rather than weakness, I am motivated to help clients recognize how their past experiences are connected with their current concerns. I am passionate about helping individuals heal from their traumatic experiences. Trauma hides in plain sight and disguises itself in many forms.

I am trained in EMDR and have been using it for over 6 years to help people heal from traumatic experiences.
I help women to overcome their trauma histories to become a better version of themselves. If any of these describe you, I can help: 1. You grew up in a household that ignored the elephant in the room or brushed problems under the rug 2. You struggle to know your worth 3. You have a hard time setting boundaries 4. You don't feel "good enough" 5. You struggle with anxiety, insecurity, or guilt 6. Most importantly, you want to become a better version of yourself and are ready to do the work needed to make changes with the support of a caring professional.

I have over 17 years of counseling experience and am an LGBTQIA+ certified therapist. My areas of specialty include anxiety, trauma processing, life transitions, social skills, situational mutism, and working with LGBTQIA+ individuals. Sometimes people are hesitant to seek counseling because they don't want to have to relive painful events. EMDR therapy enables individuals to reprocess traumatic events without explaining and reliving all the details.

Are you interested in reaching your full potential and seeking solutions for a better tomorrow? With the use of EMDR, you can neutralize the past, eradicate unwanted symptoms such as anxiety and depression, increase self-esteem, and create the life you want. For the last fifteen years, I have successfully shifted clients who reported not feeling a benefit with traditional talk therapy. I am progressive in the therapy approaches I utilize and am partial to modalities that are evidence-based and well researched, such as EMDR, Reconsolidation of Traumatic Memories (RTM), & Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT).

You seem to have it all. You’re highly successful, ambitious, and supportive of those around you. Underneath, you are scrambling to hold it all together, feeling rushed, angry, burned out, and pulled in every direction. You feel like screaming every time you are asked to do one more thing at the expense of your own wants and needs. You suffer silently, or sometimes in outbursts, from the stress and overwhelm. Feeling resigned to meet the needs of others, you believe you just have to get through this.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
