People might choose to come to therapy for a variety of reasons - life feels stressful, chaotic, or overwhelming; relationships aren't satisfying or meaningful anymore; you're struggling to feel motivated or to even get out of bed in the morning. While it's important to learn and uncover strategies to help manage these difficulties, it's also important to examine the role you might be playing in perpetuating this suffering. We don't choose to suffer intentionally, but sometimes we are blind to our own patterns, thoughts, and behaviors that tend to make life harder. That's where therapy comes in.
My approach is unique to each person and starts by building a trusting therapeutic relationship where you will feel safe and comfortable treading into difficult topics. Through exploration of your experiences, I hope to help you learn to understand, empathize with, and challenge yourself to grow into the person you are capable of being.
Choosing a counselor can feel daunting and overwhelming, and it's important to build a positive working relationship with your therapist. For that reason, I will check in periodically to assess our work together and set intentions to encourage collaboration and feedback. I feel honored to be a witness to the inner most parts of my clients' worlds!
