My name is Rhiannon Beauregard and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Supervisor and AASECT Certified Sex Therapist and Supervisor and I want you to feel sexually confident in yourself and your relationship.
The sexual part of your life is not where you want it to be and you are desperate for change. You and your partner are worried that something might be wrong with you or your relationship. You don’t know where to go for help. This sexual issue is keeping you from being happy and you and/or your partner are depressed and anxious all the time. You think about this all the time. You feel like you don’t know enough about sex and you certainly don’t know how to solve this problem, even though you have tried. No one taught you how to have a healthy and positive sexual identity, so how are you supposed to know how to fix this?

My approach is all about empowering you to see your life from a fresh perspective so you can find the way forward. My goal is to partner with you to unearth new choices you might not have considered and embrace your strengths. For me, the most rewarding part of being a therapist is helping someone move in their journey from struggling to thriving. Sessions involve lots of feedback, encouragement, and focus on what you're doing right.

I’ve helped individuals and couples facing these issues to experience transformations they didn’t think were possible.
Are you ready to breakthrough roadblocks in your life, tap into clarity, and live in peace with yourself and others? Perhaps life is a disappointment right now, and you feel like the things you’ve tried to change haven’t helped. You may be suffering under the heaviness of depressive thoughts, troubled relationships, past trauma and wounds, exhaustion, or anxiety.

The goal is for my clients to walk away with the same curiosity and unconditional positive regard for themselves that I cultivate with them in our sessions. Through the gentle untying of the knots of trauma along with reinforcement of strengths and resources, the internal compass can once again be recalibrated toward joy, with intention and self-compassion. Sessions with me involve curiosity, education, and concrete practices that will help shift your perspective on your internal and external experiences, and give you the knowledge necessary to get you back in the driver's seat of your life.

Life can be so challenging. Even when "good" things happen to us, it can bring stress and grief. Deciding to work with a counselor is a bold and brave step toward coping with whatever life is giving you. Having a person to help you process issues is liberating. By learning about your strengths and by learning how to use them effectively, you can begin to heal and transform into the person you were meant to be. I have worked with many different presenting issues including anxiety, depression, lgbtqia+ issues, family and parenting issues, school related issues/microaggressions, and many more.

Are you feeling overwhelmed by anxiety/life/depression/grief/all the things? Or maybe you just need someone to talk to? The painful moments that have hurt your heart and the expectations of modern life are heavy to carry alone. If you are here, you are ready to start the work and face your challenges, so you can finally experience peace. Imagine the relief you’ll feel when the pace of your life slows down, those negative self-critical thoughts quiet, and your joy begins to grow with every day. You deserve to live your best life, whatever that means to you.

I have over a decade of experience in the mental health field in Austin, working with an immensely diverse range of clients in an equally diverse range of environments—from public elementary schools to trails and pastures. I began my career as a campus-based therapist and case manager working in schools providing trauma therapy to children deemed at-risk. From there, I switched from the school setting to working on a horse ranch providing trauma-focused equine therapy to children and families. Prior to opening my own private practice, I was the clinical director of a group practice in Austin focused on inclusive mental healthcare.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
