Are you stressed out, depressed, confused, or in transition? Are you new to the university or the U.S.? Do you feel different from others? Do you believe you are not achieving your potential due to anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, or some other obstacle? In our work together I will help you connect with your strengths so that you can do what you do best. I work from a collaborative, solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral and integrative perspective. I pay close attention to social and cultural factors. I am pragmatic in my approach to help my clients reach their goals. I provide counseling in Mandarin Chinese and Taiwanese.
I worked in higher education for 26 years. I am a Fellow of the American Psychological Association, and a Past President and Fellow of the Asian American Psychological Association. I have extensive experience and interest in working with diverse individuals from different countries, sexual orientations, ethnic, racial and class backgrounds.
On a personal note, I am an animal lover. You will find me down to earth and compassionate. It will be my honor and privilege to be on this counseling journey with you. It takes courage to get help. Looking forward to hearing from you.
