I believe that therapy is most beneficial when it is active, structured, and goal-directed, which means you play a critical part in the therapeutic process. Counseling Services of Atlanta offers individual, couples, family, and group therapy. We offer therapy and counseling services for both adults and children of all ages including video sessions. We now have 4 male therapists and 20 female therapists! We can treat a wide variety of mental health concerns and sessions are available by phone if needed. We are centrally located to provide services for Marietta, Smyrna, Kennesaw, Powder Springs, Austell, Mableton, Dallas, Douglasville, Hiram, Acworth, Atlanta, Peachtree Corners, Lawrenceville, Alpharetta, Roswell, Dunwoody, Sandy Springs, Duluth, and Tucker areas.

For the past 12 years, I enjoyed working with people seeking supportive services such as counseling and mental health referrals. While working with people in therapy, I utilize a strengths-based approach. I believe in meeting people where they are and providing educational as well as open social support with mental health needs. My goal is to help people express their thoughts/feelings and develop healthy coping mechanisms along with giving support. I work with individuals, couples, families, adolescents, and adults in counseling. I have a specialty in treating anxiety as a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP).

Teletherapy Available - It is easy for anxiety, depression, and stress to become overwhelming with all of life's demands. If you are often feeling overwhelmed, anxious, panicky, depressed, or unsettled, now may be the time to seek treatment. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to work with clients on stress management, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, panic disorder, substance abuse/addiction, and trauma/PTSD. My therapy is typically short-term, and I collaborate with clients to find solutions to increase coping skills and minimize anxiety. As a therapist, I like to actively engage with clients.

I work with adolescents, young adults, adults, families, and couples struggling with anxiety, depression, bipolar, stress, and relationship difficulties. My approach is guided by the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) model, a third wave cognitive behavioral way of working with clients that incorporates mindfulness. I believe that the foundation to healthy functioning starts with sleep, diet, exercise, and mindfulness. I work with clients on a combination of self-compassion, changing behavioral habits, and changing cognitive habits.

What does it mean to be a man, and more importantly how does that feel? Together we will unlearn the limiting beliefs that stem from our upbringing and societal narratives, and instead learn how to acknowledge, accept, and deal with the full spectrum of emotions we have. Do you feel you are not properly heard in your relationship by your partner? Do the same troubles keep coming up within your relationship? I assist couples dealing with conflicts within their relationship such as trust, communication, infidelity, and the effects of past traumas surfacing.

I am a Latina immigrant, a native Spanish speaker, and a naturalized United States Citizen since 1987. After learning English, I graduated from The University of Georgia, undergraduate and graduate school, with the highest academic honors. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 35 years of education and practical experience which are the foundation of my clinical practice.
