My work has been targeted towards helping folx in marginalized communities. I worked to ensure inclusive and equitable practices in work and school spaces. My clinical journey started during grad school when I began working with a diverse group of adults who had eating disorders. Alongside eating disorders, I also worked with individuals who struggled with substance use, trauma, and other mood disorders.

The problems we struggle with seek to define and marginalize our identities as humans. The power that various problems seek to have in our lives can leave us feeling lost, helpless, and alone. Counseling can be a great place to begin to separate our identities from our struggles, where the problem does not get to define us as humans. My goal is to join you in this process and support the creation of a new identity, where the problem no longer gets to hold the mirror from which our own reflections are seen.

I am a bilingual therapist, in English and Spanish, who loves working with a variety of clients. I work with individuals, couples, and families. My passion is working with clients who come from intricate family systems, underserved populations, and children. As a Latina therapist, I enjoy giving back to the community by helping clients who struggle to find a therapist or simply do not look for a therapist due to the language barrier.

Working with children and families has always been my focus. For almost 18 years I have worked hard to create a space that is free from judgement where people can feel comfortable and be their most authentic self. My ideal client is a child, pre-teen or adolescent. As a play therapist I utilize many different modalities to help kids open up and talk about difficult topics. My aim is to meet people where they are coming from, create identifiable goals to work towards, and help people become the best they can be!

The process of going through therapy can feel daunting to many, and even just starting may feel like the hardest part. The good news is that you do not have to go through this process alone. I believe that the cornerstone of therapy is the relationship formed between clients and their therapist. An authentic therapeutic relationship is built upon being empathetic, genuine and present with clients.

Trusting a therapist with thoughts and emotions that we aren't comfortable facing can seem embarrassing and, at times, even terrifying.
