Why did Waldo go to therapy? ….. to find himself. Deciding to take the leap to go to therapy takes not only courage but motivation. My hope is to help empower individuals as they work towards becoming the best version of themselves. When you see me for therapy, my hope is that you feel both heard and validated. I aim to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can show up exactly how you are. You can expect me to be fully direct with you and open, while also bringing humor into our working relationship.
I have spent 8+ years working in various co-occurring treatment programs prior to joining Rum River Counseling. I specialize in providing both Substance use and Mental health related therapy in both individual and group contexts with various populations.
My style derives from a person-centered as well as solution-focused and strengths-based approach while also pulling tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This allows me to provide an honest and open space to help support you in working on your own self-discovery in hopes of becoming the best version of yourself.
