I came to this work as a result of the adoption of my daughter through the foster care system in California. From the day I began work, I have devoted my work to the well-being of others. I specialize in: EMDR, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, trauma therapy, Gottman Method of couples therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, strengths-base therapies and more. I am committed to helping individuals, couples, and families through difficult times and assist people in finding their best selves. I truly have seen real growth and healing in people through positive guidance.

When I meet new clients, I try to put myself in their shoes in order to gain a better sense of their needs. Therapy can feel like a daunting venture, especially when it is the first time reaching out for help. I want my clients to feel comfortable and understood in a safe and non-judgmental environment. Many of us can feel as if we are hitting barriers in our relationships, personal battles, and in the face of difficult life transitions. No one should feel as if their problem is unimportant, insignificant, or hopeless. I strive to demonstrate genuine compassion and empathy to help others begin a journey of healing.

Ms. Rosa Ruales has a Juris Doctor Degree, a Master in Business Administration, and a Master Degree in Marital, Couple, and Family Counseling, which she graduated with distinction. Her intensive education, bilingual skills, and training combined with her rich multicultural experience has resulted in a solution focused counseling experience for a wide variety of clients. She works with children, families, and couples. She also provides pre-marital counseling. Whether as a couple or as an individual with sexual concerns, infidelity, conflict resolution, communication and connection Ms. Ruales will work with you to help resolve your concerns.

The most important part of psychotherapy is the client relationship. It is my ongoing focus to provide a safe place for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviors. My areas of specialties are working with adults facing life transitions, chronic pain and illness, and mood disorders to help individuals redefine their sense of self. I also accept working with older teenagers who will be entering adulthood soon, to help support navigating the anxieties around such an important life transition. I also have a background in couples counseling founded int he Gottman theory and enjoy helping individuals navigate issues in their relationships.
