I am interested in assisting and supporting individuals with various needs and concerns. I particularly enjoy working with families with young children. I believed it is extremely important to have emotional and therapeutic support when faced with difficulties in your life. We will create and work towards your goals together. I want individuals to feel like our sessions are a safe place to talk freely. I also offer clinical supervision to clinicians who feel they may need both therapeutic and emotional support. I am trained in Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Trauma Systems Therapy (TST) and various play therapy techniques.

Through attachment-based, creative, and strengths-based approaches, we will work to build resilient relationships that emphasize open, assertive communication.
After years as a performing artist, I learned that creativity, play, and being known are integral to our sense of well-being. I discovered my passion for supporting people through creativity and talk therapy to pursue fulfilling and meaningful lives. I strive to create a warm, nurturing environment to process your experiences and identify your strengths and values. I work with adolescents through late adulthood with a wide range of diagnoses, including anxiety, depression, trauma-related, OCD, neurodivergent, and personality disorders.

Whether you are struggling to find meaning in your life after dealing with the loss of a loved one, failing health, life changes or one of your parents, spouse or yourself has Alzheimer's or another dementing illness I am here to help you. Your first step is a phone call away. I will travel to your home. My clients are not necessarily "artists" and there is no need to be afraid of using art materials. Art therapy uses art materials to help you or your loved one in ways that words alone cannot. It is about the process, not the product!

My greatest strength is engaging clients, making them feel comfortable with me and the theraputic process right off the bat. I create an environment of trust, lack of judgment, empathy, and most importantly hope. Once trust between myself and the client has been established, I challenge clients to reach beyond their comfort zone. In my office, which is a nurturing environment, I can expose patients who have obsessive, anxious, depressed, or self destructive thoughts to other ways of being and seeing the world. I work with clients of all ages (from 6 years to 60 years) to conquer fears and lead freer, more content lives.

Attachment-based Therapists

Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?

Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.

What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?

Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.

How long does attachment-based therapy last?

Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.

Does attachment-based therapy work?

Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
