Jo Hariton
Clinical Social Work/Therapist, PhD, LCSW
I am Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical College and teach family therapy to child psychiatry residents at NYPH, Westchester. I work with children, adolescents and adults and I am warm, empathic and interactive. I treat a broad range of problems typical of children, adolescents and adults in an outpatient practice. I have a special interest in parenting, couples and family therapy, and helping children to the adjustment of divorce. Working within an academic setting, my approaches are "state of the art".
I received "Teacher of the Year" in 2019 by the child psychiatry residents at NYP Behavioral Health, Westchester. NYS NASW awarded me "Distinguished Service to the Profession" in 2009. I am listed in Who's Who in America and and Who's Who in Medical and Health Care. I run the social skills program, teach play therapy, and have a broad range of interests.
I see myself as an integrative therapist, flexibly using psychodynamic, CBT, and/or relational approaches to best help the children, adolescents, or adults in my practice. There are many additional specialists within my setting that I can turn to if there is need, to best help the client. In this time of the Covid-19 pandemic, I offer telemedicine sessions.
