Cassie Avellaneda is a Licensed Professional Counselor, LPC. Cassie’s professional career began in the public education system. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Warner University. She taught in the public-school system for several years. Cassie then received her Master of Arts Degree in Counseling from Webster University. Cassie has been a fully licensed clinician for almost 10 years in the state of Florida. In relocating to Georgia, she is now dually licensed in both Florida and Georgia.

I am a Clinical Psychologist and I was born in Hungary. After overcoming many language and cultural barriers I earned an Associates Degree from Chattahoochee Valley Community College. After the completion of my Bachelor's of Science Degree from Columbus State University I went on to earn my Master's and Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University in Atlanta, Georgia. The diagnosis and treatment of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders is not only my professional passion, but a personal one as well.

I am enthusiastic about working with those motivated to begin their counseling journey. In my previous career as a teacher, I developed effective skills for working with children, adolescents, and adults. I typically work with teens and adults who struggle to adjust after experiencing trauma, particularly sexual trauma and interpersonal violence. I am deeply passionate about working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community through coming out, life transitions, and marital and couples issues. Trauma and Neglect Survivors - I specialize in working with survivors of childhood, generational, and neurodiverse trauma - specifically adult children of narcissistic, emotionally immature and mentally unstable parents. Through understanding, compassion, playfulness, and sharing information, I will walk with you on your healing journey. Developmental trauma is sometimes hard to see, because for those who grew up in it, it was just normal. We were taught to keep secrets, be hypervigilant, and to do and become what the people around us needed so we could survive. Those coping skills helped us survive, but now are in our way.

My passion is to help aid my clients in identifying who they are, where they are and where they are wanting to get too. I work to help resolve conflict individually, in families, and/or relationships. Each client's story and journey is specific to them so my goal is to shape treatment to the specific needs of each person. We will work through the difficult moments, learn skills to aid in independence, and become comfortable enough to reach out for support when something is not working. Breaking patterns and creating new ones based off the person/family/couple you strive to be is the goal of each session.

I am a fully licensed, bilingual clinician working with a diverse population. Since 2010, I have worked with Adolescents and Children as well as with families, and groups.
