Serving clients in most US States! Meeting you where you are... As a clinical psychologist, I understand that your life can be complex. There are various demands and expectations at different life stages that can be impacted by situational and mental health struggles. It's important to be mindful of the interaction between those demands and your stage of life. I recognize and respect that people have individual needs throughout the lifespan and I want to work closely and collaboratively with you to ensure that you reach your goals to a richer and more satisfying life.

Wine Trail Behavioral Health, LLC is a private practice devoted to the notion that the provision of competent services is based on an appreciation of interpersonal (i.e., relational) as well as intrapersonal factors in the etiology and maintenance of emotional and behavioral problems. Toward this end, a broader more ecologically oriented framework that targets the multiple contexts in which children and families are embedded, is adopted. Importantly, this approach to treatment is consistent with causal modeling literature in the areas of child and adolescent psychopathology, and has received empirical support in controlled clinical trials.

My belief is in whole heart healing...that is, healing of the mind, body and soul. I believe that people have the tools to help heal themselves, but with all of the toxic energy that is around us, those tools get buried or are forgotten. I like to see myself as a conduit for the person's change, evolution and healing. The way I work with clients is to help them find those tools within themselves-teach them new ways to use them in order to become healthy and stay healthy. I work with couples and individuals with a focus on women and women's issues.

In addition to traditional talk therapy, I run a weekly healthy relationships group for trauma survivors via telehealth and do Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) an eye-movement therapy that uses bilateral stimulation to treat complex trauma and phobias.
Are you feeling burnt out, easily triggered, or overwhelmed? My ideal client is someone who has been living in survival mode but wants to understand their emotions more deeply so they can manage their life more effectively. My clients often feel that they have to put on a mask and fake a smile, but on the inside they are in a world of pain that very few people, if any, truly understand. Therapy is a place where that mask can safely come off. I am passionate about helping people improve their ability to cope with their emotional and physical pain so that they can experience life more fully instead of just surviving.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with extensive experience working with families, couples and individuals. Additionally, I ran a certified organic farm over the past 23 years. Although farming is not therapy, it is indeed therapeutic. Farming, like therapy, is about positive growth. Working with people who are interested in making positive change is a passion for me. Anyone who is willing to look into personal transformation in their everyday life has my utmost respect. A decision of this nature can be challenging and even sometimes scary. But, your motivation will work well for you.

I specialize in using an integrative, mind-body-spirit approach to help individuals get back in touch with their own inner source of wisdom, creativity, and empowerment. I am passionate about seeing my clients use this process to make positive changes and create the life they want. Please note, although I do Not have any more spaces for new counseling clients at this time, I do have spaces/ I AM accepting new Intuitive Life Coaching clients (private pay only), which includes transpersonal and spiritual modalities.

I work with individuals who are struggling with substance abuse, anxiety, and/or mood disorders.
Have you recently realized that you no longer feel in control of your own life? During such a time, it is important to seek a safe place where you don't have to be afraid of what will come up or if you will be judged. Making that phone call to ask for help can be scary, and my down-to-earth approach will help ease that anxiety from the beginning. We can begin work immediately that will help you create a life that does not feel like such a battle.

Anxiety Therapists

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
