My name is Andrew Diakiwski. I was born and raised in Queens. I received my post graduate degree from Columbia University. I have been working in the mental health field for the past fourteen plus years. My skills allow me to work with a variety of populations including adolescents, adults, and seniors. I provide individual, couples and family therapy. Additionally I can provide psychological testing and or psychiatric assessments. I believe that therapy is an art form and toward that end I have been trained in such diverse theoretical models as Psychoanalysis, Psychodynamic Theory and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
I believe that my style is eclectic, where I focus not only on the significance of ones psychological past but also deal with the reality of the present.I consider myself to be a rare combination of dedication, inspiration, and perspiration. I challenge my patients to work hard and try to set the example.
My fees are moderate as I believe in the importance of ongoing therapy, where financial concerns do not become a part of the problem. My model is a flexible one, which is adapted and tailored to each unique patient's situation.
