I have had the honor and privilege of working with individuals and families for more than 15 years and really love what I do! My areas of specialty include anxiety, depression, mood disorders, grief, loss, and trauma, as well as women's issues. I recognize that the client is the expert on his or her life, and brings strengths to the therapy process. I position myself to be walk alongside clients and assist in facilitating areas of change that have been identified in therapy--all the while building on identified strengths.

Kyrbie enjoys working with women who are walking through seasons of depression, anxiety, loss, anger, relationship struggles, and difficulty with life adjustments. Kyrbie collaborates with clients to identify and enlist their internal strengths and resources to approach life’s challenges. She believes that each person has their own story that has shaped what they are currently experiencing. Through her work, she strives to foster a safe space where clients can tell their story, gain insight into how that has impacted them, and create a new reality that is more fulfilling.

The purpose of therapy is to help you unravel what you want, identify what's holding you back, and make goals to acquire your fullest potential. Sometimes these goals are to seek deeper, more meaningful relationships with others and/or ourselves, become more accomplished in the things that matter most to us, or to manage the pain and discomfort of day-to-day life. In our lives we will experience suffering, hardship and brokenness. Our lives are impacted individually and relationally by it. Often we find ourselves enraged, running, or hiding as we come into contact with areas of life that seem uncontrollable and daunting. The burden weighs heavy as we are unable to be who we were created to be. The depth of suffering becomes magnified in ourselves and our relationships and we desire for a lasting change. Sometimes holding to a biblical worldview can make counseling questionable amidst the hardships of life. Knowing that your counselor has the same worldview can be helpful and reassuring.

Choosing counseling is the first step in your journey to healing. I work with adolescents, women, and men who struggle with a variety of challenges such as Anxiety, Depression, Coping Skills, Self-Esteem, Communication Issues, Grief, Parenting, Self-Harm, Suicidal Ideation, Trauma, and Situational Stressors. I believe counseling is a safe and judgment-free space that allows for awareness and healing to be cultivated.

My approach to therapy is empathetic and gentle, yet practical and straightforward. I use cognitive behavioral therapy, which is the most widely used evidence-based practice. I partner with my clients to challenge their thoughts, ideas, and behaviors with the goal of facilitating real, lasting change and to achieve personal growth. Some of my specialties include anxiety, depression, substance abuse, coping skills, military family issues, marriage and family counseling. There are "therapy apps" that may be helpful for some but they do not deliver the experience of having therapy in person.

I am Elizabeth GeorgAnn Meyer and I go by Georgie. I am a native Texan where I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate supervised by Allison Cornell, LPC-S. I have a Bachelor of Science from Tarleton State University and a Masters of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University. I started my journey in the engineering field because I love to learn how things work. I love to create and build. My path then led me to learn how people work, how I work, and how to create and problem solve for healthy growth within ourselves. We all have our own journey.
