I has a heart for first generation Americans, as I am one myself, and women struggling with the weight of modern day motherhood—from TTC to loss to postpartum. I am trained in many different approaches including EMDR, DBT and IFS and use these approaches, when available, to walk the path of healing alongside YOU!

As a counselor and founder of the Mind, Body and Soul Counseling Center, my goal is to help you in your journey to help you understand yourself, feel happier and feel more fulfilled as a person. I enjoy caring for my clients, who struggle to feel loved and cared for daily. I work with individuals suffering from anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, major life changes, and couples and families who experience chronic relationship conflict. Many of my clients feel like their emotional needs aren’t being met. They feel guilty for wanting more in their lives and have difficulty advocating for themselves. I use EMDR, a structured yet flexible approach, to help clients process their trauma, reduce psychological distress, and promote healing and emotional well-being.

I was in a low place once (I call it darkness, I was in a place of darkness) and it caused me to seek help from a stranger, a therapist. It is as though he were saying, "Thank God, somebody heard me. Someone knows what it's like to be me." We all experience times in our lives where we just need to be heard, to be validated, to find some direction. It is my belief that a therapeutic relationship with a genuine therapist who provides an authentic, nonjudgmental, safe environment is the most important factor for growth and positive outcomes.

I have a breadth of training and experience in working with individuals from diverse populations, and providing psychological services across the lifespan. I have a deep compassion for helping those individuals who want to improve their quality of life so that they may lead a life that matters. I received my doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from the Texas School of Professional Psychology, and am a Licensed Psychological Associate in the state of Texas.

When you get to a place where you are ready to address past traumas, it can feel very overwhelming to figure out where to start. While there is no cookie-cutter method to treat all people, I customize the treatment approach to each individual based on that person's comfort level and needs. My own experience with the military, domestic violence, personality disorders and divorce ignited my determination to become an expert and help others find empowerment to overcome feelings of helplessness and grief. Sometimes a major event in one's life makes it difficult to stay positive and feel emotionally balanced and healthy. During those times, we just need someone to confide.
