I am passionate about working with you to develop freedom and resilience to deal with past childhood trauma and everyday stress of life. So often life experiences have been traumatic and contribute to struggles with depression, anxiety and inability to function. I work from a somatic and body centered and psycho-dynamic approaches that meets the needs of teens and women with childhood trauma, addictions, anxiety and eating disorders. My focus is to engage the whole person: mind, body, will, spirit and emotions. My intention is to bring hope, resilience and grace into all difficult life experiences.

Throughout his career, Mike counseled clients of varying ages with a wide variety of mental health issues including depression, anxiety, ADHD, substance abuse and trauma.

Laura Hill, LMFT, empowers her clients to feel confident to create the change they want in their lives. Her therapy approach is empathetic, non-judgmental, collaborative, and catered to match specific needs. Laura received both an undergraduate degree and graduate degree from Northern Illinois University. She also earned a graduate certificate in trauma-informed counseling and is a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator, a premarital counseling program. In therapy, Laura uses Bowen Family Systems, Attachment Theory, and a trauma-informed approach in a safe and relaxing environment.

Cindy Travnicek is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois who has been practicing since 2002. She leads with empathy and compassion and believes everyone is capable of change. Her clinical approach includes Narrative, Solution-Focused, and Attachment. She enjoys working with families and children and utilizing art and play therapy to help children express emotions. She also enjoys working with adolescents, adults, and couples experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, self-esteem issues, grief, relational conflict, and attachment issues.

Kristen Jopes is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Illinois who has been practicing since 2020. She received her Master's Degree in Social Work from DePaul University and her B.S. in Psychology from Illinois State University. Kristen's clinical experience includes working with adolescents, young adults, and older adults as well as external experience working with children and adolescents through athletic coaching. Her clinical experience consists of working within the community environment as well as a behavioral health hospital.

My ideal client would be between the ages of 7-13 and would be seeking help with anxiety-related struggles. Their needs would include cognitive restructuring & coping skill building to assist in their goals of decreasing their anxiety symptoms and better handling of transitions/change. The client would want to better understand what anxiety is and how it is connected to the symptoms they are experiencing. They would also want to know that anxiety can be normal and that they are not the only one who struggles with similar symptoms, understanding that therapy is healthy and helpful and can help use and build their existing strengths.

Kayla Pape, LPC, teaches clients how to adapt, cope, and manage symptoms. She knows not everyone responds to every approach or intervention, so she's flexible in her sessions and focuses on finding the best treatment plan for results. Kayla supports both children and adults, but she especially enjoys play and art therapy for kids. She provides treatment for anxiety, behavioral issues, attention issues, trauma, grief, and more. In therapy, Kayla does not treat clients like they are broken and need to be fixed. She focuses on adaptive styles of coping and symptom management and teaches clients what to do when feeling their feelings.

Amber LeFevour, LMFT, Site Director, completed her Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Northern Illinois University. My focus has always been on children and families. My experiences working with foster care and international adoption clients has helped me learn to think on my feet and be flexible with whatever is brought into session. I have also had significant experience working with couples experiencing affairs. I use humor and playfulness to connect with clients, while being practical and down to earth. I also have a growing interest in spirituality, Transpersonal Psychology, and extra sensory experiences.

Judie Huang is a bilingual Licensed Professional Counselor. She graduated from Wheaton College with a MA degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Judie's approach is mindful, holistic, and person-centered. She believes that there can be hope in the midst of pain. Judie loves to empower her clients to discover their strengths and potentials. Her main areas of focus include anxiety, depression, and trauma work. In her spare time, Judie enjoys traveling, cooking, and walking her dog.

She first focuses on making sure clients feel heard, understood and accepted, and then works to challenge the struggles they are facing. She finds building a strong rapport with clients creates a therapeutic alliance that makes significant progress. Danielle earned both an undergraduate and graduate degree from Eastern Illinois University, and she is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from Adler University.
