Mi cliente ideal está frustrado en una relación, pero trabajo con personas, parejas y familias que enfrentan dificultades de relación, depresión, ansiedad, adicciones, trauma, abuso sexual, TDAH y divorcio inevitable. Kristin Camorlinga, MA, MAT, LCPC, recibio su Maestria en Consejeria de Loyola University en 2012. Kristin se ha enfocado en trabajar con ninos, adolecentes y sus familias. De hecho, tiene mas de 20 anos trabajando con este grupo como consejera, maestra de primaria, y guia Montessori. Tiene experiencia como terapeuta bilingue en varios ambientes, los cuales incluyen tres escuelas, un centro de apoyo para familias afectadas por la violencia domestica, dos agencias no-gubernamentales y dos agencias de salud publica. Kristin, siente pasion por ayudar a personas que estan pasando por momentos difíciles en su vida y superarse.

At times we find ourselves experiencing problems and difficulties. We may respond in ways to barely get by and keep moving forward. Sometimes we struggle to feel a sense of belonging or feel consumed with negative thoughts and emotions. Maybe it’s our past that is keeping us from being in the present moment or it’s adding to our overall stress. In therapy, we can identify new ways to cope with difficulties and other life struggles that may be hurting our overall health or relationships.

I am fascinated by the human mind as well as how our life experiences impact the people we become. At the same time, I strongly believe that we have the power to be more than the difficult things that have happened to us. Seeking therapy can be intimidating but also incredibly rewarding. I consider it an honor to work with people on their journey to healing and self-improvement. My goal is to provide a supportive environment that is free of judgement.

I like working with adolescents to adults who struggle with concerns such as depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship issues, major life transitions, chronic pain, and substance use. Being a native of Puerto Rico, I also love working with the Spanish- speaking community.

My approach to counseling is that I believe in the power of a therapeutic relationship to help overcome many obstacles in a non-judgmental, nurturing, and safe environment for adults, children, & teens. I specialize in integrative, culturally sensitive, person centered psychotherapy services that help clients lead more fulfilling lives. I use Play and Sandtray Therapy in my work with children. Play therapy can provide a child with opportunities to express complex feelings, learn developmental skills and empower the child to grow and heal. I encourage different forms of self-expression such as art and play therapy.
