As a mental health professional, I provide support and intervention for a variety of psychological, career, academic, and relational experiences across the lifespan to diverse persons. This includes services to individuals, various partner structures, families, and groups. My work centers on decolonization and destigmatization of mental health services with emphasis on culturally-affirming care. As such, I identify as a LGBTQIA+, Kink, Disability, and Gender Affirming provider. The experiences of marginalized, minoritized, and disenfranchised communities remain at the forefront of my clinical work.

I believe parts of our life are made up of series of losses, and my goal is to help folx manage these losses. Loss can come in many forms; death of a loved one, identity, the future, and more. I help provide the needed support, validation, and evidence-based approaches to the many types of loss life may throw your way. While grief and loss are a huge part of the work I do, I also have experience and enjoy helping others learn to manage anxiety, depression, substance use, relationship issues and other mental health concerns.

I have specialized in working with Obsessive Compulsive Spectrum Disorders since the late 1990's and have worked with hundreds of patients, trained other professionals all over the US, and published a range of books on optimal OCD treatment ("The OCD Meditation Book"; "The ERP Cure"). OCD is the result of miscalibrated circuitry in the brain that should be looking for danger, but for those of us with OCD is looking for perfection which it can never find. Having OCD myself I will be able to more quickly understand the way your OCD works and develop a specially tailored plan to get your brain working better.

I have over twelve years of experience working with adolescents and their families as well as counseling experience with couples, adults, and children as young as seven years old. The areas that I focus on are anxiety, depression/mood, adjustment issues, spiritual issues, oppositional behaviors, anger management, and trauma. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in the treatment of children, adolescents and adults experiencing difficulties due to the trauma of sexual victimization and domestic violence. I have worked extensively within the Kent County Family Court system and various area agencies in addressing safety and advocacy issues for children and families. Additional areas of clinical expertise include anxiety and panic disorder, marriage counseling and working with divorced parents in establishing an effective co-parenting plan for the children. I have co-facilitated a grief recovery support group for the past 6 years.
