I have over 20 years of experience working with individuals, families couples, and groups. My educational background includes a Ph.D. in Family Studies, a MA in Counseling, and a BA in Family Life Education. I worked in family preservation for over 10 years, I am certified in treating sexual addictions, sexual abuse recovery, and facilitating life skills. I am experienced in offering support for grief, change of life, and parenting. I am also educated and experienced in crisis intervention including but not limited to mental health emergencies, domestic violence, and sexual assault.

In order for one to heal one must release what they’re suppressing. Together we will work on effective positive coping skills to address the root cause to any difficulties you may struggle with, to get back to “a healed and healthy version of you”. My goal as your therapist is to provide guidance that will help you navigate through the challenges that life brings. We will work together to achieve your mental health balance and wellness goals. I aim to break barriers and obstacles that are associated with the mental health stigma.

I would like to give counseling services to the youth and their family members to minimize/reduce recidivism. My focus is for youth that have been released from detainment and need help changing self concepts and their roles in life. I have over 15 years of experience counseling with youth, couples, individuals and group settings. I also have worked with Veterans that have symptoms of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and started a couples group for Veterans and their family members.

With more than 15 years of working with diverse populations in marriage and relationships, inpatient psychiatry, community centers, health care, and church settings, my specialty is Sex Addiction and Marriage/Couples. I am a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist treating the full spectrum of sexually addictive behaviors and paraphilic disorders. My integrative therapy style is customized to the personality and presenting needs of my clients as I am motivated to help them achieve their optimum goals.

I graduated from Wayne State University in 2020 with a Bachelors in social work. After completing the advanced program ten months later, I earned my Masters degree in social work from WSU as well. Currently, I am a LLMSW, with over 10 years of experience. My background includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with additional experience with Motivational Interviewing, grief & loss, trauma, depression, BPD, pre-marital & marital counseling, ADHD, and anxiety. I strongly believe everyone should have access to mental health services in efforts of achieving overall happiness.

I believe that we are all broken vessels, just like glass that can be restored, when we learn new behaviors and techniques to help us heal from the inside out.
