I would like to give counseling services to the youth and their family members to minimize/reduce recidivism. My focus is for youth that have been released from detainment and need help changing self concepts and their roles in life. I have over 15 years of experience counseling with youth, couples, individuals and group settings. I also have worked with Veterans that have symptoms of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and started a couples group for Veterans and their family members.
I have a unique practice which helps individuals focus on self and the states of mind in the decision making process. I combine Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Motivational Interviewing and Freud's Id, Ego and Super Ego to help clients to develop a healthy self concept and maintain healthy relationships.
The special factor in my practice is how a person views him or herself by asking the question "Am I growing up or just getting older?" Developing an understanding of how we communicate with each other creates a very special factor in my practice.
