Compassionate Christian counseling for adults who need a safe place to talk and sort through their stressors, traumas, and circumstances in life. I am here to listen and help you work through issues and find healthy boundaries with yourself and others. Together we will work toward your goals and find practical solutions. Most people do what they do because they believe what they believe. This is what the Word of God says - "As a man (or woman) thinketh in his (her) heart, so is he (she)." I am just a guide and my aim is to help you achieve your goals by setting them yourself after dealing with your concerns or issues.

Life is full of changes and changes can be a difficult part of life's journey. Some changes we welcome because they start a new adventure while others are challenging to accept. Changes can happen without warning and may be quite dramatic, as in the case of accidents, loss of a loved one, a broken relationship / marriage, job loss or serious illness. My desire is to help clients find the path to hope, understanding, encouragement and healing. I believe healing comes through our relationship with God.

Hello. My name is Jessica Jensen, and I have a passion for helping women work through the difficulties of life. These experiences have a way of weighing us down and making it hard to see a way forward. The truth is reaching out for support creates opportunity for change to occur. I primarily work with women struggling with anxiety, mood issues, relational issues, trauma, grief, significant work/home stressors, women’s issues, and chronic health issues. As we work together there is potential for you to gain greater understanding of yourself and your situation, which will then allow you to begin taking steps to improve your life.

My ideal client is someone who feels overwhelmed by life’s challenges but is motivated to make positive changes. They may be struggling with anxiety, self-doubt, or depression and are seeking a space where they can work through these issues in a meaningful way. They might feel stuck in patterns of negative thinking, have difficulty managing stress, or experience trouble setting boundaries in relationships. They may also be grappling with identity questions, life transitions, or unresolved trauma from their past.

Hi, and thank you for visiting my page! I recognize that each of us has a unique story, shaped not only by our inner world but also by the influences around us. By focusing on both your past and present, I hope to help you heal and create a healthier, more fulfilling story for yourself. My personal style of therapy centers around you — your story, your needs — in a way that is non-judgmental, collaborative, and supportive. I like to bring warmth and, when helpful, a teaspoon of humor into our work together. (Ask me about the armadillo pillow in my office.)

I think it's important to approach therapy with an open mind. I don't have expectations of clients other than they need and are seeking help. I have a wide variety of skills and don't know what I can help you with until we discuss the issue. At the first session we decide together if our relationship will be effective in helping you solve your problem.

Just as we exist within an external system; family, work environments, neighborhoods, school community, we have a personal internal system within each of us. These two systems influence each other throughout every day of our lives. Just as our minds need to understand our external systems like the rules at our office or school, we need to understand the interaction of the parts within ourselves. This may be a difficult concept to wrap your mind around because we live in a world with such external rules. What would it be like if we lived by the knowledge of the internal and external systems ?

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have worked in the mental health field for the last ten years. I love working with people who are hurting and have given up hope. I believe that body, mind, and spirit are equally important in maintaining health and wholeness, and I approach restoration from a holistic point of view. I believe that our past does not have to define us, and we each have the power to write the next chapters of our lives.

My ideal client is someone who’s navigating the lasting effects of trauma, grief, ADHD, or abandonment—whether they’re an adolescent trying to make sense of big emotions, a young adult stepping into independence with lingering pain, or a veteran carrying the weight of past experiences. These are individuals who often feel overwhelmed, misunderstood, or disconnected, yet they deeply desire clarity, peace, and a greater sense of control over their lives. They may struggle to focus, form secure relationships, or find meaning after loss—but they are resilient and ready to heal.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
