Welcome to Brand New Day Counseling! I'm a trauma-informed, strengths-based, person-centered therapist who values and honors all backgrounds, beliefs, and perspective diversity. I help kids, teens and adults cope with a multitude of mental health issues and psychosocial challenges. My passion is helping clients navigate and redirect how anxiety and mood disorders, stress, OCD, Asperger's Syndrome and other mental health concerns impact all aspects of their lives. I'm honored to be on an empowerment journey with clients who seek practical strategies for growth. My philosophy is to help "humans with humaning," which is hard sometimes!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Florida. My vision is to empower children, youth, and families in the communities through evidence-based counseling. My treatment approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and a systems approach. I am well trained in play therapy, Infant Mental Health, Trauma-Focused CBT, EMDR therapy, Modular Approach to Therapy for Children with Anxiety, Depression, Trauma or Conduct Problems (MATCH-ADTC), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) & Positive Parenting. I have ample experience in assisting a diverse array of clients in regaining hope, joy, and purpose in life.

Although we have collectively had times of hardship and struggle, during individual and group counseling sessions I will enable you to find a path of understanding and develop your strengths to live a more enriching life. I will help you look into your story and events that have shaped who you are and who you envision becoming.

My passion is working with children and young people dealing with depression, anxiety, self-harm, suicidal ideation, guilt & shame, trauma, self-esteem issues, and chronic illness/pain. I want to know what the client's needs are and how I can meet them so that we can reach their therapeutic goals. Therapy for me is a collaboration.

As a therapist, I feel it is most important for a client to feel heard, safe, cared for, and understood by the therapist they choose. I believe that when a client experiences this level of comfort with their therapist, that is when the most positive changes occur. I enjoy working with motivated clients who are seeking to make positive changes in their lives. I support my clients with patience, guidance, empathy, and understanding throughout each unique journey.

Building a profile of your child's uniqueness should not be determined by the simplest of efforts. For 30-years I have specialized in diagnostic evaluation, educational therapy and parenting consultation and in doing so I have designed a comprehensive method for richly describing, organizing and addressing children's social/emotional, behavioral and learning strengths and weaknesses. For each and every child and family I work with my solitary goal is to develop a deeper understanding or your child's unique social, emotional, behavioral and learning profile. I work closely with parents in collaboration before, during and beyond the evaluation.
