I specialize in life transitions, family conflicts, and trauma.
Have you reached a point where almost everything seems like an uphill battle? Despite your best efforts do you feel stuck, scared, alone, or hopeless? Are you afraid to share your innermost thoughts out of fear of judgement or being misunderstood while you navigate everything alone? Trust me, it is not your imagination. I am willing to meet you wherever you are in your life. You are never "too much" to be my client. I can say that, because I am looking to provide empathy, patience, and openness to all of my clients.

I work with clients that have a variety of issues, but I specialize in anxiety and trauma.
Do you live with a secret belief that you are unlikeable or unlovable? Are you normally able to keep it out of your mind so you feel OK, but then something happens in a friendship or relationship that brings the painful feelings back into focus? Part of you thinks that maybe if you talked with someone you could feel differently, but part of you just hopes it will pass so you don't have to think about it again. I want you to know that you are not the only one who has these beliefs and that they can change. "The only way out is through" - Robert Frost

Something just isn't right, you are not yourself. Stress, anger, worry, sadness; it is building up and you can’t seem to shake it off. Things aren't going as planned, you are stuck, and what you doing just isn't working. You may even be experiencing self-doubt or acting in uncharacteristic ways. Where did this come from? What did I do to deserve this? How did I let this get away from me? Shame, guilt, blame, and negative thoughts are evident, it is getting hard to see the bright side. Your job, relationship, family, health, or peace of mind are at risk. It is time for a change and deep down inside, you know it.

Why Choose Us? "Building on your child's strengths" - emphasizes the importance of focusing on a child's unique abilities and talents. It suggests that by identifying and nurturing these strengths, we can help children reach their full potential and achieve success in their own way. It encourages parents and educators to take a positive and proactive approach to education, rather than solely focusing on weaknesses or areas of improvement. By recognizing and building on a child's strengths, we can create a supportive and empowering environment that fosters growth and self-confidence.

I remember the first time I decided to seek therapy. I remember the mixed emotions of anxiety, fear, being overwhelmed, not knowing what to look for, or where to go. It can be especially hard if you identify as BIPOC and/or LGBTQIA+. You can rest assured that all of those feelings are valid and normal. Don't let fear prevent you from reaching out for help with the issues you are going through. I am here to hold space for you and offer a supportive, unbiased, non-judgmental environment. I will stand by you on your healing journey as your guide. You don’t have to go through this alone.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
