I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). With a specialty in working with adults with Asperger's Syndrome, I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to help my clients learn to cope with the symptoms of depression and anxiety that often accompany Asperger's. I also work with individuals of all ages seeking to increase their daily living skills. Additionally, I am available to work with parents who are struggling with their child's challenging behaviors.

I work exclusively with adults in both individual and group psychotherapy. My primary focus is on relational issues.Over thirty years of practicing psychotherapy have taught me that the cornerstone for happiness and mental health is directly related to a person's capacity to establish and maintain healthy interpersonal relationships. The research on this is pretty impressive. People who have healthy relationships and a supportive network of friends and family have fewer mental health problems like depression and anxiety, live longer, have less physical and emotional illness, and if they become ill, they recover more quickly.

My life's work has been dedicated to the service to others. I greatly enjoy meeting people from all walks of life, ethnicities and belief systems. I will support you in addressing the problem(s) that you or your loved one is facing. I will join with you to create a treatment plan that addresses your reasons for seeking help. Geneen N. Brown is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Georgia who has over 20 years of experience in the field of Social Work managing clients in various settings including but not limited to Child Welfare, Early Childhood Development, Medical Social Work, End of Life Care, Clinical Therapeutic Care, and Behavioral Health Case Management. Geneen treats the adult population spanning from young adults to the aging population managing a variety of life challenges such as grief, loss, anxiety, stress, depression, life transitions, end of life care, family dynamics, and women issues.

I have three main passions in life that have directed my career path: relationships ,individuals in crisis and gifted individuals. I know what it takes to help all three flourish, in spite of the obstacles they face. As a caring, empathic, yet direct therapist I can help premarital couples prepare for what lies ahead,. Gifted individuals of all ages will find that my intimate knowledge of their emotional overexcitabilities helps me guide them through social, emotional and educational obstacles to reach their full potential.

Unhappiness is caused by the view people take of things so the internal dialogue is the key to understanding people. Focus of therapy is to help indiviudals find a better way of looking at their current situation through empathy and cognitive restructuring. The ultimate goal is finding some joy in the journey.

The Trap House of Healing is an unapologetic urbanized practice for Black families to be seen, heard, and supported. The THoH was founded on the principles of building community by integrating Black culture, trap music, and holistic work to help heal those in need.
