While I utilize an Object-Relations perspective, I integrate movement-oriented and expressive techniques, Trauma Informed Practices, mindfulness strategies.
You have always mattered. Do the joys of life offer reinforcement of your wonderful purpose, while the trials of life may have left you in doubt.? Through therapy, you can learn to embrace your strengths and heal unspoken wounds. A part of who we are is a result of our previous experiences. My experiences impress the necessity of meeting people wherever he/she/they/it may stand. Inclusion and diversity informs my clinical perspective not the reverse. Together we’ll begin to implement culturally appropriate interventions to help you achieve wellness!

I integrate practices from trauma processing, attachment/family-of-origin healing, perinatal mental health, NARM and brainspotting.
Welcome. If you are looking to deepen your relationship with yourself and others, to heal from complexities of life, to nourish yourself and help cultivate a life that is full and abundant, then I am glad we found one another. Often we get swept up in the “go, go, go” nature of society only to detach and shut down at the end of the day. I believe we can experience something much different. I believe we can find ease, joy, creativity, confidence, peace and deep fulfillment in our lives, by reconnecting with our inner spark and letting it guide us to self-healing.

I commonly treat trauma (acute, chronic, and complex), anxiety and mood disorders, life transitions, and assist clients with self-discovery.
I am a passionate believer that we all embody the strength that it takes to heal ourselves. I use a trauma-informed, holistic approach focused on addressing the root cause of clients' identified symptoms. I have a special interest in working with young adults as they navigate life transitions and discover themselves and their passions.

I work with teens and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, and struggles related to gender identity, trauma, or life transitions.
You're not sure when it happened, but you don't recognize the child sitting in front of you or the person looking back at you in the mirror. You want to feel happier, healthier, and more confident, but nothing seems to work. You feel stuck in the past, experiencing difficulties with enjoying the present, causing the future to feel hopeless. You feel so overwhelmed that you can't stop worrying and focus on work/school. You wish you could find the right words to let others know how you're feeling and the struggles you're facing. You just want to feel empowered to ask for help when you need it, hoping you don't have to do this alone.

My typical client has a trauma history and may be anxious, bipolar or depressed. You may have a hard time in relationships. Family members may be stressing you out. You may have a hard time getting out of bed and wonder why others have what you want which is a decent job, a serious relationship w someone who has your back and treasures you. You want family and friends who adore you.. Sometimes you have all this and more and you’re still unhappy. I think most people want to be seen, heard and understood. Understudy of Dr. Josh Coleman, I also work in adult child estrangement, If any of this resonates, I think I can help.

I am qualified to provide Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Language & words matter. We define ourselves & our worldview with our words. How do we talk to ourselves? What does our inner critic sound like? Is that voice in your mind coming from you, or someone else? Is that voice supporting your goals, or keeping you stuck? The voice in our head and the words it speaks to us are habitual; it can cause a negative cycle if not explored. Therapy is an opportunity to engage in a healing relationship with that voice in your head. I am here to support you, guide you through that journey, and help break that negative cycle.

Waitlist for new clients
I work from CBT and psychodynamic approaches, with a trauma-informed perspective.
The healing process of therapy requires vulnerability and the uncovering of intense and difficult emotions. I strive to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for individuals who are looking to begin or continue their personal journeys of healing. Are you feeling stuck due to difficult or traumatic past experiences? Do you have trouble understanding or feeling in control of your emotions? Or maybe you are looking to build a better understanding of why you are the way you are! During the therapeutic process, my goal is to help my clients bridge the gap between where they are and where they want to be.

It is important for an individual to be free from the fear that does not allow one to reach a place of understanding and self-acceptance. Whether it is struggling with a past trauma, loneliness, anxiety, anger, fear of not being accepted, feelings of being “too much” or “not enough”, I practice from a place of compassion and non-judgement. When a client expresses, they are ready for a change, I will “meet them where they are at” in the therapeutic process. I enjoy working with diverse populations, at any stage in life, including individuals who identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community.

As a trauma informed therapist, I see a client as a whole person and not their symptoms.
I strive to create a peaceful accepting space for you to process whatever heaviness you have been carrying around. Therapy should be a place where you feel grounded even in the midst of chaos and struggle. Everyone deserves to be seen and fully accepted for who they are in this world, I hope that I can provide that for my clients. Making the decision to seek therapy often doesn’t come from just one thing, it’s a combination of our past, present, and possibly future. We will explore all parts of you to understand who you truly are and help you become your most authentic self.

I am yoga teacher and a clinical social worker with a certificate in Level 1 Advanced Trauma Training that utilizes her clinical knowledge and mindfulness background to help you achieve your goals.
Lately things have been really confusing. You're not spending as much time as you used to with friends and family. Maybe you are feeling lonely, or maybe you prefer being alone right now. Everything just feels like too much. You aren't sleeping well. You are afraid no one will understand what's going through your head. You used to enjoy life but recently something has changed and you're not sure how to get back to your old self. You want to move forward from here, but you don't know where to start.

Sometimes life is hard. You may feel stressed out trying to do it all, and your brain just keeps going and going. Perhaps it even keeps you up at night. You may be a parent with a career, spouse, and kids, and it's a struggle to find time for yourself with all that's going on in life. Being home more these last few years can bring new challenges to your relationships. If this sounds familiar, I can help. As a marriage and family therapist, I help women overcome trauma, deal with every day stress, and improve their relationships with others.

I utilize mindfulness, expressive techniques, Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Trauma Informed Practices.
Life can be complex and challenging, while often making sense of experiences and searching for answers can be difficult. Finding the right path is not as easy when dealing with complicated situations in life. You’re looking for the right answers, searching to find your way, trying to help someone or feel stuck. You are not alone. Recognizing your strengths through additional support can help you achieve balance and wellness.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
