I believe that the most important part of helping a client relates to the development of trust between the client and therapist. It is essential to create an emotionally safe environment and demonstrate unconditional acceptance regarding the client's emotional experience. I am holistically oriented and use an integrative eclectic approach to treatment. I believe that the body and mind are inter-related. The therapeutic approach might focus at times on improving nutrition, exercise, and even self-appreciation. Therapeutic techniques may include aspects of: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Problem Solving Therapy, Client Centered Therapy, NLP, Art, Movement, and even Hypnosis.

I don't know that I could choose my ideal client. I have worked with both individuals and families. In this field, you do not have the luxury of choosing who you would like to work with or who is your " ideal" client. I just began working with children, and I have been enjoying every second of it. Every single person who comes through the door or logs on for their sessions through telehealth, keep an open mind, be open to suggestions, and view everything as a learning experience that will further your career and expand on your knowledge.

I enjoy working with clients who want to be in therapy voluntarily. Even if they are guarded, not wanting to change, and struggling with the commitment of therapy, as long as they want to be there, I enjoy working with them. Their issues, needs, and goals can be from various mental health concerns, but as long as they fit into my scope of practice, I aim to be the guide they need to achieve their goals. I am there to provide them with a safe and non-judgmental space for them to truly be themselves and allow them the opportunity to develop their strengths and better understand themselves.

My ideal client is curious about themselves and the world and actively participates in the therapeutic process. I enjoy working with young adults and older adults, but I'm not limited to these populations. My ideal client is at a place of feeling "stuck" in their life. Whether that be a career transition, deciding on a college major, feeling lost in a relationship, or a new onset of symptoms. I am also comfortable with helping individuals unpack their past to understand their current habits. My ideal client wants to understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to develop self-awareness and self-compassion along the way.
