I am a licensed psychologist w/ 25+ years experience in private practice. I work with people who have relationship, parenting and career issues who may be struggling with difficult life transitions, losses, fears, self-esteem and self-control issues and those who experience debilitating self-doubt, shyness, self-hatred, jealousy and rage. I also work with Internet addiction issues. My therapeutic approach is to help you get to the root of your emotional concerns and to learn new ways of dealing with problems so that they don't reoccur.

Many things can trigger a call to a therapist: Overwhelming anxiety, persistent feelings of depression, unfulfilling or problematic relationships at home or at work, or sudden changes in life circumstances (health, financial, or interpersonal). Talking to a therapist in a supportive environment can be very helpful. Therapy helps you figure out what you want to get out of life, identify what gets in your way, and work out new ways of approaching your goals. When you come in regularly to talk, exploring patterns and identifying factors that interfere with achieving goals, your life tends to improve.

I firmly believe that life is easier lived when lived in relationship. I work with adults to help develop a deeper understanding of how past unresolved family dynamics may play a role in the current struggles you are facing in all of your relationships.

I am a psychotherapist with over 25 years of experience working with adults and adolescents. My background includes clinical work at several New York City hospitals, including Mount Sinai and Bellevue, as well as a private practice in Montclair, N.J. I am also a professor at Montclair State University since 2010, and have published articles on optimism and resilience.

In all his work, Chris always looks towards your empowerment and in that provides guidance and helps you to truly recognize your strengths and how to build upon them. Most every appointment is available and is as effective by phone or video chat (Zoom or FaceTime), and can further be more expeditiously scheduled these ways. Guidance, support, and objectivity are key elements in any service provided along with the addition of any tools and action plans as appropriate that have you manifest more of what you want being an active agent of your own change. Chris' experience is with ages 4 and up with children, adolescents, and adults.

As a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselor (LCADC) for the state of New Jersey, I work with individuals, couples, families and offer recovery supportive groups therapy. I specialize in the treatment of anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship issues, and substance abuse.

As a Licensed Social Worker, I am dedicated to helping you achieve your goals and resolve problems. I have a positive, warm, and open approach in which you will feel safe and heard. We will work together to set goals, implement change, learn, and grow. Although I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as a primary framework, I use a flexible approach tailored to the needs of each client. Approaches include; Mindfulness, Self-Care, Motivational Interviewing, Exposure Therapy, Play Therapy, and Person Centered Therapy.
