Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder treatment for women and men is my core specialty. ADHD is a "Sticky Ball", rolling as we age, picking up all kinds of symptoms. It is often misdiagnosed medically by blaming the hormones or as another mental health condition such as anxiety, depression, stress, bipolar disorder, or believing that ADHD is a childhood condition. Anxiety, panic, depression, insomnia, mood swings, anger, self blame are all symptoms of ADHD. My goal is to brighten your daily life and lift you out of the current state of misdiagnosis and medication failures that are causing unmanageable difficulties in your life.

I'm passionate about the importance of people having easy access to mental healthcare. Before joining the healthcare field, I taught in low-income and underserved communities. Seeing the impact that a lack of mental healthcare had in these areas drove me to return to school and begin a career focused on providing that much-needed care. In my eyes, treatment can significantly increase the quality of life both mentally as well as physically.

I take a collaborative approach with my patients. I like to know what my patients’ goals are so I can tailor the treatment to help them achieve their goals as much as possible. Knowing what’s important to my patients helps me know what treatments to recommend or when to suggest a change to the treatment. I find that patients experience the most success if they are open to talking about their treatment options.

My ideal patient is someone who is willing to collaborate with me to create the best treatment plan possible for their unique needs. As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I believe that mental health is more than the absence of mental illness. Although my training and education is to diagnose, evaluate, and treat psychiatric disorders, my goal is to work in partnership with clients toward an integrated sense of mental clarity, balance, and resiliency. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, diagnose, and prescribe medication. I emphasize shared and informed decision-making when tackling symptom management. My goal is to help you leverage a combination of lifestyle, environmental and pharmacological modifications to optimize functioning and well-being. Prior to Spruce, I spent the last seven years at Seattle Children's Hospital, Harborview Medical Center and teaching for the University of Washington's School of Nursing.

Dr. Patrick Eneje is a doctoral-prepared, licensed and board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. He sees patients ages 14 to 65 with psychiatric conditions, including but not limited to PTSD, OCD, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, etc. Dr. Eneje's primary practice goal is to provide evidence-based, holistic care by combining psychopharmacology with supportive psychotherapy to enhance each individual’s mental, physical, and emotional state of well-being. He values collaborative relationships and enjoys tailoring care by taking into account one’s unique identity and background.

I specialize in the treatment of adults with a range of mental health concerns. I treat clients in a professional and confidential setting that feels safe and non-judgmental. My practice draws upon a variety of evidence-based psychotherapies and utilizes psychiatric medications if appropriate. I believe that for any treatment to be effective, it must be built upon a trusting and collaborative therapeutic relationship that reflects each client's individual needs and personal values. I believe in a down-to-earth and transparent approach to psychiatry that views genuine human connection as the foundation of any treatment.

My practice is oriented towards long-term insight-oriented psychotherapy with children, adolescents, and adults, sometimes including medication management as part of an overall treatment plan. I seek to provide non-critical, empathic, and respectful listening which will enable my patients to feel safe as we explore together the sources of their distress. As a person achieves greater self-understanding, greater self-acceptance and compassion towards oneself becomes possible, and this helps relieve suffering and affords greater personal freedom to become one's authentic self.

Biography: I completed my master’s degree in nursing at the University of North Carolina in Greensboro, followed by a post-master’s degree in Family Nursing Practice (FNP) and a doctoral degree in nursing practice (DNP) at Winston-Salem State University in North Carolina. I also completed a post-doctoral degree in psychiatric mental health practice (PMHNP) (across the lifespan) at Frontier Nursing University in Kentucky. I am board certified in Adult, Child, and Adolescent Psychiatry (PMHNP-BC). I am also board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C), a DOT Medical Examiner, and SAMHSA (X-Waiver) addiction provider.
