In addition to her clinical practice, she is a Professor at George Washington University, where she enjoys working with military veterans, their families and college students, particularly those experiencing transitional challenges. I am an adult psychiatrist with 24 years of experience in treating patients who struggle with a large array of psychiatric diagnoses including psychosis, mania/bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety and substance abuse. I started my career as a researcher at NIDA working with children, adolescents and adults with ADD, ADHD, CD and ODD. I am a former sub-investigator for studies pivoting around psychosis, bipolar disorder and depression. My approach in treating patients is multifaceted, including psychopharmacology, individual, couple and family therapy, genetic testing, TMS, ECT.

My treatment approach is simple-- help you get to the underlying cause of your mental health symptoms and offer you effective solutions to help manage them. I believe that medications are only one tool among many that can help improve symptoms of mental health-- in my conversations with patients I put equal emphasis on the importance of good nutrition, optimal gut health, stress management, individual talk therapy, regular exercise, and excellent sleep hygiene. I am now pleased to also be offering ketamine-assisted therapy for individuals with treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, OCD, and PTSD.

She received a bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Virginia in 1997. She received a bachelor's in Nursing and a master's degree in Women's Health nurse practitioner in 2000 from Virginia Commonwealth University. In 2016, she received her post-master's degree in Psychiatric Mental Health from Virginia Commonwealth University after realizing the strong need for mental health care for obstetric patients.
