Hello and Welcome! I started my private practice in 2017, to follow a lifelong passion of helping individuals become their true and authentic selves. In the midst of our challenges, we often forget who we are, and can become. As an individual, parent, and psychiatrist, I follow a holistic approach to life. I believe in connecting mind, body, and spirit for healing. I am "mindful in practice", taking one moment at a time to help you on your journey toward discovering your true nature. My Name is Helen Anyiam. I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse NP with Doctorate Degree in nursing. My goal is to work collaboratively with the client and their family to reduce mental health symptoms. I help clients achieve better functioning and improved wellbeing. I provide thorough Psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis and treatment of various mental health services. I specialized in the treatment of Major Depression, Anxiety disorder, substance abuse/addiction, bipolar disorders, schizophrenia, PTSD and other mental health disorder.

I am a psychiatrist (medical doctor/physician) skilled in psychotherapy (talk therapy, counseling, executive coaching, and psychoanalysis). I specialize in helping people reach their full potential by answering difficult life questions such as, "What's happening," "What does this mean," and perhaps most importantly, "What should I do?" With years of clinical experience treating patients of all ages, from children to adults, I meet my patients where they are. I am an adult psychiatric clinical nurse specialist and nurse practitioner. My practice is located at HWY 290 and Hollister in Houston, Texas. I provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, medication, and psychotherapy. I treat individuals, couples, families, and groups. My Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Program was completed through the William Alanson White Institute of Psychiatry, Psychoanalysis, and Psychology. Additionally, I have training in cognitive behavioral therapy, couple's counseling, family therapy, group therapy, and as a clinical hypnotherapist.

As a certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I aim to provide hope and healing from life's challenges in a nonjudgmental, serene environment. I have nearly a decade of experience in the healthcare industry, inpatient and outpatient, in numerous roles. My primary purpose is to assist individuals in recovering and maintaining their mental health. The promotion of holistic care is my number one belief. Bridget N. Shu, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with a background as a certified medical assistant. She developed a holistic approach to patient care during her nursing career, leading to a bachelor’s degree from Western Governors University Utah. With experience in medical and psychiatry hospitals, she recognized the impact of mental health on daily lives and relationships. Mrs. Shu furthered her education with a master’s in nursing specializing in Mental Health from Midwestern State University, Wichita Falls, TX.

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who believes in each client's uniqueness, and ensures a holistic treatment based on individual needs. I specialize in treating psychiatric disorders including, but not limited to, Anxiety, Depression, Mood Disorders, Bipolar, PTSD and ADHD in child, adolescent and adult psychiatry. I am very passionate about contributing to the improvement of community's health utilizing evidence-based approach mental health care to patients. I am accepting patients, including short notice appointments.

When working with children, teens, adults and families I address the difficulties in behaviors, feelings and thinking presented. An initial evaluation explores present and past concerns involving school, work, family, crises, peers, emotions, thought patterns, development, physical health, and environment. A treatment plan is coordinated with the patient that unifies the biological, psychological and social issues. An integrated approach includes referrals to other professionals as needed. By practicing evidence based medication management, I review each patient's concerns during the initial assessment and at follow up appointments.

I currently see patients from age 6 to 17 years old. My areas of interest include ADHD, anxiety, behavioral issues, oppositional defiance, impulse control disorders and bipolar disorder in children and adolescents. I provide medication management and supportive psychotherapy.
