I was fortunate to grow up in Charleston where my family has lived for many generations. I spent my childhood playing on Sullivan's Island and sailing at my grandparents' House on Wadmalaw Island. I attended medical school at the university of Colorado and completed psychiatry residency at Dartmouth. I emphasize a holistic, patient focused treatment built on a foundation of a strong doctor-patient alliance. In 2014 I decided to return home to my family in Charleston. I was in a clinical leadership position downtown at the VA until joining Mt. Pleasant Psychiatry in 2017.

Michele is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PHMNP-BC) with more than 17 years of experience working with adults who are suffering from anxiety, depression, stress management, adjustment difficulties, OCD, PTSD, and substance abuse. She is hard-working, compassionate, and empathic with a commitment to providing the best mental health care services to individuals. Michele obtained her Bachelor's degree in Nursing from Daemen College and completed her Master's degree in Nursing from the University of South Carolina.

My diverse clinical experience brings a unique perspective to mental health. My journey began in the fast-paced environment of emergency rooms and intensive care units, where I witnessed the profound interconnectedness of physical and mental well-being firsthand. As a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) I embarked on a quest to integrate traditional psychiatric practices with holistic approaches. This fusion of conventional medicine and alternative therapies forms the cornerstone of my patient-centered philosophy.

Dr. Sherbondy has greater than 20 years of experience in the field of Psychiatry. He received his medical degree at Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Linda, California. Then, he completed his residency and fellowship at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia, South Carolina. He is triple board-certified in general psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, and addiction medicine. Dr. Sherbondy provides treatment for adults, teenagers, and children diagnosed with depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorder, panic disorder, OCD, and more.

I concentrate on integrative psychiatry to understand you as a whole person. This allows you and I the ability to identify and treat the underlying causes of your condition, so we can move beyond just covering up symptoms with psychiatric medications and achieve profound life changes.
