I am Doris Okoli DNP, MPH, PMHNP-BC. I am a Psychiatric Mental Health provider who sees patients from age 10-90 years. With over 10 years’ experience working in the mental health field, I am committed to serving those who are seeking relief from mental health symptoms that have impacted their happiness, connections with others, and quality of life. I graduated from Brandman University with a Doctorate in Nursing, Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science with dual degrees in Masters in Public Health and Masters in Nursing.

In my role as a psychiatric nurse practitioner, my ideal client is an individual actively seeking assistance for their mental health challenges and displaying a genuine motivation to instigate positive transformations in their life. These individuals may grapple with a diverse range of issues, encompassing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, or stress-related conditions.

Patients come to me with a variety of different issues, from addiction to depression, anxiety to ADHD, and many others. My initial goal is to listen to your current circumstances carefully and then discuss multiple treatment options. These options usually include gold-standard treatments like talk therapy and medications, but may also include newer treatments like transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) or ketamine. Together, we will explore all of these different options and create a treatment plan together that reflects your goals and preferences.

I am board certified in psychiatry and a proud therapist with the American Alpine Association's Climbing Grief Fund and the American Avalanche Association Resilience Project. I earned a B.S. in biology from Virginia Tech and a masters in counseling at George Washington University. I worked as an LPC in eating disorders, addictions, and general psychiatry for 7 years before completing my Doctor of Nursing Practice. My doctoral project focused on cognitive behavioral therapy for eating disorders and the relationship between exercise, anxiety/depression, and cardiovascular health. I am also a former paramedic.
