While maintaining her career in the Emergency Department, she expanded her experience to the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Vascular Access Lab, and Psychiatry. She is board certified in child, adolescent and adult psychiatry as well as in addiction medicine and has been practicing for over 17 years. In addition to general and child and adolescent psychiatry, Dr. Gaveras is also board certified in addiction medicine and trained in the Eating Disorders, Compulsions and Addictions Service (EDCAS) at the William Alanson White Institute. While having treated a wide variety of patients, her primary clinical focus has been in the treatment of adolescents and young adults with co-occuring substance use disorders.
