Hello, I look forward to meeting you! I'm a Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with over 10 years of nursing experience. I specialize in treating a variety of acute/chronic mental illnesses with psychiatric trauma. As an experienced Military Police in the Air National Guard and a Medic in the Army Reserves, I enjoy working with veterans, supporting their mental health journey through both medication management and psychotherapy. I work with an amazing group of colleagues at Lavender, an online psychiatry and therapy office, where we believe psychiatric care shouldn't be expensive nor impossible to access.

Dr. Coleman’s approach to treatment begins with an understanding that each client is a unique and dynamic individual deserving of the highest-quality of competent, compassionate, and evidence-based psychopharmacological and psychotherapeutic care. I am a board-certified psychiatrist and graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) and New York University (NYU). After graduating as chief resident, I went on to pursue a fellowship and work in the public sector serving those most in need. My clients often include those that have been struggling with difficulties that impair their day to day function, leaving them unsatisfied, unhappy or struggling with inner turmoil or anxiety. As a physician and therapist, I believe that mental health is characterized by flexibility and fluidity of thought and intention. I take a balanced and gentle approach in my treatment style and am careful to gauge and work with each of my patients wherever each may be. While I readily offer the use of medications if and when they may be helpful, I have often found talk therapy to achieve enduring change.

Follow up medication management appointments are also provided. Supportive, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioral therapy approaches are incorporated on a case by case basis.

The stigma around mental health treatment can make initiation intimidating, because of this I offer a non judgmental and confidential space to get the treatment you need. As well I focus on the individual and not the diagnosis. Medication management cannot be performed properly if people are all treated the same. Services include medication management/review ,medical marijuana, and first time consultations to discuss a treatment plan. ADHD diagnosis/management is also provided. ADHD is often overlooked or under treated. My goal is to provide a personal experience where we work together for optimal care ensuring all needs are met.
