Graham Windham Community Mental Health Services offer a variety of evidence-based treatment for children and young adults, 5-25 years of age, based on our comprehensive psychiatric and biopsychosocial evaluations. We offer individual therapy, family therapy, psychopharmacology management, and support services. Each treatment plan will be determined based on the needs of the individual client. We also offer bilingual services in Spanish.

I continue to be excited about doing this work every day to help with the resolution of the symptoms my patients are experiencing. Luckily in Psychiatry as in other disciplines of Medicine, orderly collection of the information is vital to understanding the presenting problem. In many cases, there may be a somatic cause undergirding a behavioral presentation. In some cases, Iron Deficiency may be one cause of Restless Legs Syndrome as well as a positive family history. So, the completion of lab tests, when suggested, are critical to identifying and managing both physical and behavioral illness.

This provider currently serves NY, CT and NJ. Dr. Pereira is a board-certified adult psychiatrist who is dedicated to providing compassionate care for a wide range of mental health concerns. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University and his medical degree from The Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, where he graduated with the Department of Psychiatry's award of distinction. He went on to complete his psychiatric residency training at Northwell Health's Zucker Hillside Hospital, with a specialization in the assessment and treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and related conditions.

Dr. Yacoub has expertise in complex mood disorders, psychotic disorders, interventional psychiatry, and advanced psychopharmacology. Dr. Yacoub focuses on the interconnectivity of the mind, body, and soul. In addition to medication management, he is proficient in supportive and interpersonal psychotherapy. He has treated adults, geriatric patients and diverse populations including and veterans. He is dedicated and empathetic to all his patients.

Dr. Carolyn Benson has 21 years of experience in treating adults, adolescents, and children. Her focus over the last ten years has been on working with young adults, children/adolescents, and their families. Her expertise covers a wide array of therapeutic modalities and mental health diagnoses. The primary focus of her sessions is to provide medication management with education on treatment options. She will provide therapy models that are appropriate within that 20–30 minute medication session. If longer therapy time frames are indicated, she will discuss the need to add a therapist to your treatment team to achieve optimal care.

Jena M. Simon, DNP, is a Double Board-Certified nurse practitioner specializing in psychiatric mental health and family health. After graduating from Columbia University in 2010 as a Family and Oncology Nurse Practitioner, Dr. Simon worked in New York City at a large tertiary medical center caring for adults with sickle cell disease. In this role, she became attuned to the needs of people living with chronic illness and chronic pain.

I am an NYU-educated, ANCC Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with over 10 years of experience in providing authentic and non-judgmental nursing care. My focus are the treatment of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, and insomnia. I speak English, Cantonese and Mandarin. My approach is collaborative, individualized, holistic from a shared decision-making perspective, which combine therapy styles from Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) with IFS-informed (Internal Family System-informed) EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).

She earned her medical degree from Nova Southeastern University and then began an Adult Psychiatry residency at the LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. She then completed her Child & Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship at LSU New Orleans and a Forensic Psychiatry fellowship at University of Rochester.
