My name is Mertie L. Potter. I am an ANCC certified family psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner with a doctorate in nursing practice. I see children, adolescents, and adults of all ages. My clinical practice is primarily focused on medication management while I do a limited amount of psychotherapy at Merrimack Valley Counseling Association in Nashua, NH. Some areas of my expertise include anxiety, ADHD, mental health issues related to chronic illness (such as, arthritis, cancer, FMS etc.), loss and grieving, mood disorders, and stress management. I taught nursing and NP students for many years and precept NP students.

I have a private practice consisting of clients seeking psychiatric medication and a small number of adult clients seeking counseling only. I see both children and adults for psychiatric medication. I have been in Practice for about 30+ years in this area and specialize in addressing issues with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, OCD, ADHD and phobias. I specialize in pharmacological treatment and short term counseling as needed. I deal with children above the age of 10 years up to 70 years. She provides comprehensive behavioral health services including psychiatric assessments, diagnostic formulation, medication management, and psychoeducation for an array of mental health disorders.
