I treat each person in the way I would like to be treated. Each person and/or needs are different. Therefore, I treat each person with an individualized treatment plan that is person-centered. Journeys in Mental Health & Wellness is an outpatient mental health and addiction clinic. Our mission is to provide high quality mental health services to our patients by using evidence-based treatments combined with compassionate, person-centered care. Our patients and families learn to manage their symptoms, beat their addiction and gain a better quality of life.

As a licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner my goal is to provide you with a safe and caring environment to discuss your thoughts and feelings as well as provide medication management. My focus is to enhance and assist your strengths and coping skills with any challenges you may be facing.

I am a provider who believes in treating the "whole person" which is why I am credentialed as an FNP and a PMHNP. I can help patients with their medical issues as well as their mental health needs. We also have therapists on staff to help those who benefit best from therapy. I believe if the medical side can speak to the mental health side it ensures a more thorough level of care. I enjoy working with elderly, adults, teens who present with a variety of medical and mental health needs.

I am a board-certified PA with a certificate of additional qualifications in psychiatry (CAQ-Psychiatry). I have experience working with adults with a myriad of psychiatric illnesses, but I have a vested interest in LGBTQ+ mental healthcare, treatment-resistant depression, personality disorders, and trauma-based disorders.

An ideal client is someone with a mindset for progress and growth. They may struggle with any mental health symptoms daily, but they are honest, open, and willing to work hard to feel better.

As a registered nurse and currently as a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I have about 14 years experience working with patients struggling with mental health issues. Dr. Charli Ellis is a board-certified psychiatrist. She has practiced in myriad settings including psychiatric emergency departments, inpatient hospitals, medical hospitals, and outpatient clinics. Dr. Ellis’ practice focuses on medication management. Typically, she offers this along with supportive psychotherapy in 30-minute follow-up visits. However, if indicated Dr. Ellis may believe that additional therapy is also needed and ask that you bring a therapist into your care team to provide the best outcome.

Tara Nate is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to her patients across their lifespan. She prioritizes using a holistic or whole person approach when addressing her patient’s wellness goals. This includes not only focusing on their mental and emotional needs but also on their physical, spiritual, and social needs. She uses a trauma informed approach and aims to empower her patients to lead fulfilling lives.
