As a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC), I am experienced in the evidence-based diagnosis, treatment, and management of mental illness.

Connecting with each client is a vital part of my practice. I view each person as important, not “a number“. I find checking in regularly about goals and current satisfaction helps foster a trusting client/provider relationship focused on growth. I work with each person in identifying barriers that could hinder therapy and medication from working. I firmly believe that positive mental health and well-being do not happen in “a vacuum”, but many factors affect this, therefore a holistic approach is required to achieve lasting results.

As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner I believe in caring for the whole person. I do this through an Internal Family Systems therapy lens, assessing, diagnosing, and caring for mental health concerns. Sometimes this means prescribing medication, and other times it means working together in psychotherapy to find the roots of pain.

I am Licensed and Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health NP in Adult, Adolescent, and Child Psychiatry. I believe that every patient deserves the best mental health care, and it's my job to deliver it! I pride myself on going the extra mile to provide research-driven holistic care. Starting with a complete/comprehensive Initial Psychiatric Evaluation and ensuring my patient receive their medication on time. I treat Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar, ADHD, Psychotic disorders, PTSD and others conditions ... I am experienced with outpatient, inpatient, and partial hospitalization. I also provide brief CBT, DBT, general therapy.

I have had the privilege of working with a diverse range of patients, helping them navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and other mental health conditions. My approach is holistic and patient-centered, tailoring treatments to meet the unique needs of each individual. In my practice, I strive to create a warm and welcoming environment where patients feel safe, heard, and understood. I believe in the power of a strong therapeutic relationship and work collaboratively with my patients to empower them and foster resilience.

We believe our patients time is equally valuable to ours, so we try hard to eliminate waiting, and use the time to discuss their issues, goals, and to provide the needed management, education, and support.

My patients often come to me after trying other alternatives because they want to understand WHY they don't feel as healthy or vibrant as they once did. Stress, anxiety, depression, trauma or the pressures of transition from career or living situation will effect the body, the brain and the mind. We look at the physical, chemical, hormonal, mental and emotional systems, and work with our patients to build a better way forward. Currently accepting new patient consultations (Updated January 2024). I believe my role as a Psychiatrist is not to cure but instead to join my patients on their unique paths to mental wellness. Having trained at the University of Michigan, I take an evidence-based approach to mental health. However, in addition to traditional medication management, I have studied multiple forms of psychotherapy, opened myself to wellness-based methods, explored complex topics with patients from race to spirituality, and remain open to learning more approaches to mental healthcare.

Dr. Ahmed is a Diplomate of American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology. Dr. Ahmed has many years of experience in treating mental illnesses. After an initial diagnostic interview, individualized treatment plan is discussed with clients. This may include medication management, psychotherapy or a combination of both depending on your symptoms and needs. Dr. Ahmed also offers TMS treatment for Depression in his Okemos office. Dr. Ahmed treats clients with mental illnesses like Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Major Depression, Anxiety & Panic Disorders, PTSD, ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Dr. Atul C. Shah, MD is a Practicing and Licensed Physician in the Metro-Detroit area as psychiatrist and general practitioner, serving a diverse range of patients with compassion, respect, and dignity. Dr. Shah has evaluated and treated patients in his practice for over 30 years both in Michigan as well as India.

Joel L. Young M.D. is medical director of the Rochester Center for Behavior Medicine (RCBM) and the Cofounder and Chief Medical Officer of MindMetrix. RCBM is staffed by over 80 mental health professionals with years of experience in the treatment of the ADHD, depression, anxiety, and other current mental health disorders. He has given hundreds of lectures locally and throughout the country regarding his areas of specialty. He has published textbook chapters and articles on many of these topics and contributed essays on mental health public policy and other psychiatric issues.

Dr. Sethi completed his specialized psychiatric residency at the University of Michigan Health System in Ann Arbor, MI. As an interventionist, he has a sub-specialized experience in the latest evidence-based treatment modalities including Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Ketamine. He focuses in collaborative work with patients and providing ample time to make sure everything is clear and transparent. His goal is to help improve the quality of life for all his patients with a focus on preventive measures as well.

I work with adults and adolescents with a wide variety of emotional problems. Typically this may manifest in difficulties in relationships or professional performance, or in symptoms such as anxiety and depression. Ideally they would have a curiosity about themselves, a willingness to explore and understand their emotional world more fully in psychotherapy. They would understand that this type of growing awareness can facilitate profound changes in their behavior, relationships and symptoms.
